Pretty sure that's the 'hotel' we stayed at once in Blackpool.  My car packed up two days before, so I took a £85 all in untaxed petrol Citroen BX from the auctions instead, and played 'dodge the DVLA clamp' for a few nervous days. All went well except for an expensive sounding mechanical  noise on the way home. Turned the radio up to avoid it, got home and the engine was knocking it's bollocks off.

It looks like the one @MrBiscuits and I stayed in for a really sordid stag do in about 2004.

It was the first time either of us had encountered a 'dry lounge' and my overriding memory of Blackpool is brown effluent foam drifting across the beach, driven by a stiff breeze. Also, a hand-written sign in the back of a Daewoo Matix with the words 'SLAPERS ON TOUR' (their spelling).

Blackpool is fucking shit.

I've only been to Blackpool once to collect a bike bought on ebay. My memory of the place is levelled areas that may once have had factories on them. That and a rusty Datsun the bike's seller had in his yard.

It was more a repatriation mission really. That bike was Oxfordshire registered and had lived in Blackpool since at least 1960. Sadly no ownership history before 1963.

Blackpool is fucking ace. Had my stag weekend there, and love the place. It's a shit tip, but it knows it's a shit tip.
