I loathe the (fake) patina / rusty look.
It doesn’t seem funny or clever to anyone who has had their cars ruined by genuine rust.
Back in the day Mrs A. and her then Mr.  put every penny they had into a V reg Cortina only to see it rot away to scrap well before it was ten years old. The front wings and the door skins were just flapping in the wind at the end.  Their’s was a base 4 door. (Did UK get any 2 door mk 4s?)

Despite the rat-look, the dice and the wanky roofrack, that Taunus does look cool.  Somehow.

It's a trend that doesn't want to die isn't it? I remember Fast Ford magazine (or similar) talking about rat look Escorts in South London as long as 20(?) years ago.

Yes mk4/5 2dr base/L hard to find, LHD taunus are worthless in the UK as they require bulkhead/scuttle swap to make them rhd & there are enough cortinas left to find what you want.

European taunus was avl in most mech/trim specs, several times I've considered finding a 2 Dr "S" or Ghia & converting it to rhd but you need a doner for the bulkhead/scuttle, dash all the heater ducting etc , a rack & loom.

Would be a full week's work even for someone like me with 40 years experience of these.

I'm not sure that I'd trust anything from a place that has nine consonants and no vowels in its name.

That looks quite cheap they used to be over £200, falling market or bargain?

Our cat used to like sleeping in ours.

Hmmmmmmm indeed and £8250 is bloody strong money for a car that may have had its EFI system stripped out and binned!

Discos were on carbs and not EFi  when first introduced,  I think LR were trying to get them slotted in as a cheap RR idea - so the first Discos were, pretty much, a mashup of my 1983 2 door RR with some Montego switches (let's face it - they had the two door chassis available, parts bin full of switches etc, why not).
I think when Disco went to 3.5 EFi when the RR moved up to the 3.9 EFi - don't quote me on that bit.

(Heh - don't forget the powerful MPi - my farrier at the time had one from new.....).
