Not shite money though, obvs.

Thirty grand is about right for a Venturi. Wouldn't mind having that. There was a car that should have sold quite well, but never took off here. CX S2 door mirrors.

Like half the low volume supercars of the late 80s, I;m surprised there were any left for hapless CX owners if they got broken.
They did a bonkers turbo version of that too IIRC.

Wasn't Packard the last company to sell a car with an inline 8 cylinder or did Buick keep them going longer?
Anyway, this is a lovely old thing and not that dear either for what you're getting.

BTW, is there a dummies guide on here for embedding the links into the picture so you just click on the pic to get to the ad?

The mirrors continued in production long after the CX had left the scene.

Am I out of touch, or is one of these without an engine really worth £2450, with a days bidding to go?

I knows it's from the 'hewn from granite' era, but really?

The floppytop is probably the most valuable/sought-after of the W124 range, so it's about right.

That's a Corona Exiv ST182 (EXtra impressIVe). Same family as second generation of FWD Celica and closely related to the Carina E. Probably the same not-so sporty 2.0 16v 130hp as the Carina. Might have the 150 engine from the GTi but I doubt it.

Amusingly the MOT check thinks it's a Corolla. Interesting car, but probably knackered.

Reason(s) for failure

  • Nearside Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively (8.2.2)
  • Offside Windscreen wiper does not clear the windscreen effectively (8.2.2)
  • Nearside Front Front position lamp(s) incorrect colour (1.1.A.3e)
  • Offside Front Front position lamp(s) incorrect colour (1.1.A.3e)
  • Battery insecure (1.9.1)
  • Nearside Suspension component mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded (2.4.A.3)
  • Front Exhaust has a major leak of exhaust gases (7.1.2)

Advisory notice item(s)

  • Nearside Front brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened (3.5.1i)
  • Offside Front brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened (3.5.1i)
  • Offside Rear brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened (3.5.1i)
  • Nearside Rear brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened (3.5.1i)
  • High level brake light not working
  • Some general underbody corrosion
  • Some previous welding repairs
  • Front number plate poor condition

Corona? The general public won't want it now then. Even if it has free C*r*na beers thrown in.

Can someone on here please add it to the fold instead?

I like these, but who told them it was worth £1500?  They’d do well to get that with an MOT.
