eBay tat volume 3.

There’s a guy on Speak EV who in 2014 claimed to have bought all of the spare parts from the company that did these who I assume went bust.

They were £18,550.

rantingYoof this is the Omega you have always promised yourself. An early 2.0 in base spec (I think this is the legendary "Select" trim level).
No wood trim, just grey plastic.
Alloy wheels which somehow manage to look like discount wheel trims.
A steering wheel out of a Cavalier (not even worthy of a proper Omega steering wheel).

I cannot believe how utterly miserable it is. It's brilliant. To top it all off, it comes with a year's MoT, so you can enjoy the absolute misery for a full calendar year for only £650.

Although it appears to have the 2.0 16v rather than 8v engine.

Am I making the 2.0 8v up?

This is lovely.

I had an identical one, red T plate 1.4 and I loved it. This looks like a nice example.

Don't be put off by the smaller engine. They are silky smooth, rev like crazy and I felt really suited the car.

If this was the other side of Christmas, I would have this in a heartbeat.

Fucking £15000 too.

Or for another £800 ish you could have this Fiesta Supersport fake. It's got a 1.8 Zetec, single carb and RWD. I think it's bloody awesome.

Nice ones of these are coming in under £2K now.

A decent one should be a fairly safe way of some enjoyable and affordable hot-hatchery.

Ooooh, didn't realise they were so cheap now.

I'll keep that in mind. Maybe a few months yet.

Can vouch for the 1.4 I had a fiesta with the same engine and a 1.7 puma.  The puma had much more acceleration 40-70 but the 1.4 still went well enough

It's only a 2.4 turbo diesel with the turbo removed so its a diesel then.

WTF? Why would you do that?

They also mention in the ad that it runs but is a 'bit smokey'. No shit, Sherlock. It'll be overfuelling to fuck with no boost pressure to burn it off.

Were one to find oneself in the position of binning the best part of 20 grand on an old uncle festa.... that’s actually a really hard decision to make. The original I think, unless one owns a racetrack....
