Holy moly, my dad briefly had a B plate Carlton in that exact colour and trim combo back in what was probably about 1989/90 ish.

Also this utterly fantastic very early XJS. Only way it could be better is if it was yellow.

Would have thought although probs expensive for an XJS, must be a pretty good investment, providing it doesn't rust away to nothing in ten minutes, obvs.

That XJS looks tasty, but not so sure about the “superior condition” claim. The Pre-HE ones really do look amazing in that sort of mustard yellow for some reason, like an old Volvo 240.

I'm with Eddy on this.

If I'd seen this in 1973 , I'm sure that would have been the cause of my first erection rather than Babs on Top of Pops.

The ultimate in land yachttary?

'60 Flat top - yes, the ultimate.   Especially with that interior....

I disagree, I like an XJ on slots.

Well you better buy it to preserve the cool as a cucumber 70's aesthetic.

Looks decent this. 5 cylinder diesel, only 70k miles, only £150 or offer. Needs some welding but probably not too much. When did you last see one? Other than Nigel's one that got assaulted with a pallet of books the other week I mean.

Bonus points for background chod, I think thats a red Peugeot 309 behind the Corsa?

Unreliable, wooden, fan base of about 3 people in the entire world and as popular as a fart in a space suit. But never mind the Corsa, look at the Marina.

Quite an early one this, thus slightly less absolutely fucking awful as the ones that followed. Dare say if the rest of the car is as good as the bits pictured, £500 is probably quite good value*

This belongs to my mate Tony in Perth and it was dismantled by the PO (the Brechin antique dealer) and left in a shed. Tony bought it to save it from the scrappy (he also owns a lovely Fleur de Lys van) and then bought the pick up to put it on. The pick up is a nice example, the completed van would be less so in my opinion :-)

Whitbread's in Blackburn had one of these in the 80s when my dad and uncle worked in the depot garage. My dad used to come home in it quite often. He wasn't that keen but the excitement from me and our Luke when the "vintage" van came home might have been worth his while. Don't knock it it's harmless!!
