I had a spec lift Freight Rover with the Land Rover diesel engine.  It was fucking dire.  Top speed on the flat with a Volvo 480 on the back was 48.

Well you best not sell the car then, I don't particularly like pink cars however if joe blogs who's just purchased my car wants to paint it pink with white spots that's got fuck all to do with me! if you want to reside over the fate of the little car, you best pony up and keep the bloody thing.

Just been looking at diesel V70s as I may have to do some serious commuting in the near future.

EDIT: Only just read the ad and realised its not similar, its the same one.

 

 

What do we think of the pricing on that? It wouldn't put me off given the service history but plenty would run a mile; it's going to limit the level of interest at that money.

 

 

Impressive stuff, but it's not worth a carrot, let alone £900.

 

 

It’s quite a curiosity, but let’s face it it’s finished. Everything will be worn out. £300-400s worth maybe in my mind and hope to get a bit of use out of it before it expires. I wonder how many sets of injectors it has been through?

 

 

I'd see that at £400, unless say Sven Goran Erikkson owned it, then I'd see it at £350

Its had its day. Everything on it will be worn smooth. Chances are theyve sacked it off cause its just generally worn out now.

Hey! Come on guys, it’s a ‘celebrity’ in Volvo licking circles with that mileage. It’s got this far what’s to say it’s not good for a few more miles? These don’t suffer from the rot that normally leads to the ‘bridge’...

 

Just an observation...

Changed at 400k ish after being nursed along for 100k miles with magic potion additives. At the mileage it's on now, the second one must be near-dead too. Probably why it's for sale.

 

That said, a sensible ovloV dealer should snap that up and advertise the shit out of it.. "Volvo quality... Car has been to the moon and back with over 600K miles on it and still justabout drives!"

 

 

Nothing wrong with geartronic/AW55 gearboxes. Its the Volvo sealed for life that is the problem.

 

 

I'd deffo agree with the posts that this is only worth James Brown money, everything will be worn out, and it looks like electrical meltdown has started. I suspect the engine belts out blue smoke a fair bit too. 

 

 

I read the story about it (it was at 575,000 odd miles then) & It appears that it was a taxi/private hire vehicle.

 

Also, interesting to note...it is on it's 3rd steering wheel....

Thumbs up from me on the mileage though.....That is one of the highest i have ever seen. My S60 is just run in then at a mere 144,000 miles...

 

Also....From the above story in 2014....
