'How much would a 36-40k mk2 granada or Mk5 cortina be worth now?'

About two hundred times what this is?

Shameless plug for my uncle's Scenic which has fallen on hard times.  He's a skilled ex-military mechanic and has owned Renaults for years but this one doesn't seem to have rewarded his loyalty.  It's done well towing their caravan and taking them around the country mind, but the list of recent work it's had done sounds mildly terrifying even without the latest failure.

I really like the styling on these earlier Saxos and a few tidy ones have popped up out of the woodwork.  Maybe next year now but a VTS or VTR will be on the horizon at some point I reckon, or a 106 GTi.

I have got a 52 plate furio which is the 1.4 saxo with the bodykit that you are welcome to borrow for a bit if you want to try one first.

That's a very kind offer, might have to take you up on that but won't be for a while as rather too much on my plate right now!  My only experience of them is the monumentally slow and knackered 1.5D 106 I learned to drive in, not really a fair test and I've never driven one without beaded seat covers.

Thats ok it is my courtesy car so just sits around doing nothing most of the year.. The 1.4 8 valve is pretty good fun and you can drive it hard with no complaints. My girlfriends lad borrows it for autotests so it isn't afraid of a bit of abuse
