OSF nobber's had this and messed it about a bit, thankfully all reversible. What's £850 like for a 1.3L?

Hello? Is that a Leeds council estate, circa 1992? We've got something here that's yours...

£300 not the window price of £799.

Not sure why 'spares/repairs', looks pretty honest.

The spares or repairs thing is probably just so they can wash their hands of it once it's off the forecourt, seriously worth a punt if someone wants something cheap to run for not much money.

I've driven that car! It didn't have those headlights or alloys in 1987, but I'd remember that brown velour anywhere . The story I was told when doing my Chauffeur course was that the school ended up with it because no one wanted it because of the trim and colour. It was old then and was mostly used for stationary stuff, cleaning, door opening and passenger entry/exit etiquette etc.

I did a second, close protection and evasion course in about 92 and it wasn't around then, so I wonder why it was at the factory till 95.

Early breadvan Polo project, all sounds pretty doable.  Then just bask in the gold and beige glory of it.  Seller reckons it's a 1.0 but I think GL spec means the peppier 1.3.

I own KEO398Y. As you were.  Already had two of these so that itch has been scratched.

I'm fine with Africa, it's Newton Abbot that had me worried.

When?

Dunno. Whenever convenient. Need about 6 weeks. But could start with a 2-week road trip inside Ghana. I can organise car etc.

Or a Namibia/Botswana/Lesotho/Swaziland/Zimbabwe/Swaziland/South Africa one.  Off to Bots at the weekend as it happens.  Will do a spot thread.

You could probably talk me into that.  My friend in Limpopo has a tidy W123 280E (RHD, obv) that would probably be worth a lot more here than there, so it could be the mother of all collection threads.  Mrs S and I are likely to go back to South Africa and probably Botswana again next year anyway.

Happy spotting sir, look forward to the thread.  Here's mine from my last couple of trips: http://autoshite.com/topic/12541-skizzers-saffershite-new-old-trucks-p2/

This is really quite tempting for Mrs Skizzer* - a tidy low mileage Clubman in AS livery, with Junkman-approved transmission and a year's ticket for two bags.  I like Clubmen.  Serck font front number plate, too.

* Who currently can't drive, but is warming to the idea after driving the Renault 16 round the rugby club car park a bit.

Edit: Also just noticed the reg is my late father's initials.  It would have been his 96th birthday last week.  IT IS FATE.

Actually I quite like that idea. Could put it on my van. Matching pair. Hmmm.
