Oh FFS. I provisionally agreed to buy that P6 then this comes up for sale 5 minutes away for exactly the amount of money I have to spend!

Believe it or not but my scrap man came round last week and we got talking about classic cars. He has been offered a Facel Vega but can't get the cash together. He has done his research but at 75k it is a bit out of his league. It is supposed to be mint though.

Delighted you've bought and saved that nice looking P6 from what seems to be an utter 'tard.

 

Reminds me of when I rescued a mk4 cortina 2.0ghia days before the guy that had it planned to "strip it out and do it tango orange wif a zetec and rebel flag m8"

2.5 diesel! Lord knows what the engine is out of, doesn't look like the best choice (2.5Di) or the second choice (4 headed GM thing) but like the man in the built up shoes, I stand to be corrected.

It's only about 30 miles from here and within my budget. Should I just go out for half an hour or so to avoid buying it?

A shiny restoration would just destroy this Mk 10.

 

Sitting outside on the drive of an East Anglian bungalow it looks like old Jags used to look, with a crap 1972 respray and years of gentle decay and knocks and scrapes from old boy ownership.
