You know when you see the first picture of something on eBay and realise it's going to be absolutely WEAPONS GRADE DOG SHIT? Step this way

Quite WTF the winch is for (except perhaps when he gets stuck in a puddle) I don't know.

That BX would clean up quite nicely I suspect. 1.4 TU engine is a corker. They're ridiculously good fun! If a little low geared. One of the best colours ever on a BX.

I reckon the inner NS wing wants doing before it'll pass the MOT though.

I think if it hadnt had a sun roof I would have got it and possibly had a chat with Doc about dropping a diesel donkey in though.

Indeed it is, and the seller (rightly) makes reference to that on the listing.

While you're on, Ian...

I really like the idea of owning this, especially as it's local to me, but I imagine that getting hold of the correct rear bumper would be a major hassle, even in south Essex :(

Didn't know they ever made a diesel 4x4, that'll be interesting..

From the the Cockney Montego advert:

'Has reliable Perkins diesel engine often used in Land Rovers'

Probably straight where that one is heading.

Think this had a BIN of £1400 which seems pretty fair, but it could be a right money pit

I’m off to have a look at this tonight with the A-frame in the boot!

Went to see this tonight, I liked it and was up for buying it but the ASSRAMMER selling it did not answer his mobile when i got there so there was no-one to do a deal with! What a waste of a fuggin evening, drove to Bedford for nowt. Its a pretty tidy FSO, needs some minor welding on the back ends of the sills but otherwise very smart, oh aye it has what look like brand new STOMILS on the back!

I drove one of these 4x4 Turbo Octavia's when they first came out and though it was pretty great. It was well fancy at the time and it seems nuts you can get one for under a grand now.

£1195 seems cheap for the this 407. I always liked the boot button in the 0 of the 407. I've seen a few of a similiar vintage in the scrappies so I guess they're a potential time bomb?

STOMILS for the 100% side wall treaded win - see my nomination in Quote of The Year. Are they the same '50s tread as they were in the early '90s?

The trade seems to be of the opinion that 407s are shit. In my (limited) experience of them, I'd agree.

I suspected as much given how shit modern Peugeots seem to be in general. It did however wind the 2004 European most buttons on a car dashboard award.

originally an ambulance

I'm gonna need two pints of silver top AB negative, stat!

Reminded me of a mate who had a tranny recovery and traded as Lightning Recovery. Whenever we phoned he said "Be half hour just got to jump start the truck" :D

I like that dark purple colour too, it looks pretty classy. I bet it can go a bit too (290bhp according to tinternet) although the gearboxes seem to shit themselves with alarming regularity if all the knackered ones on ebay are anything to go by.
