This might look like that Kirby's scrapyard in Essex with the old motors in, but its actually some lad's garden.

the inner wings have been welded up to take a z tec engine and has been done very good

Seems to be popular with fiesta goons this, just chop the chassis right out as its getting in the way of the gearbox. Just wipe out 60% of the rigidity of the front end in one go. Brilliant!!

When I had to do this on a mk1 xr2 I only had to cut out about an inch so looks like he has cocked up with his measurements. would love to see it finished and watch him do a rather spirited traffic light start.

I believe it's just the Exclusive spec that does,

IIRC you get the poxy electric parking brake as punishment if you want gas comfort on C5.

I've been looking for a 3 grandish modernish family car and I just saw this on ebay. WCPGW?

I've not heard any self destruct grenade story's about these but it could just because no-one bought them. They're gawping obviously and this ones about to end after garnering no interest at all.

I read that Renault really upped their game on these, which probably means they brought it up to the quality of a bolivian dung cart. Has anyone driven one?

Re 'new' Lagunas

I know someone who had a coupe on PCP for 3 years and did a shitload of miles without any issues.

One has to be a bit wary ,when you think this was the car that finally made them stop selling large cars here. Just look at the shit they thought was perfectly OK- how bad must Renault have expected these to get?

On another forum a regular bought one of these Lagoonars, similar vintage, and yes it continued the tradition of niggling electrical problems, he got rid after about 8 months or so before something realy expensive failed.

Nice enough car till you look at its arse, then wish you hadn't.

The rear end always looks like one of those odd anime faces to me

I think those Lagunas look gash but then again I'd be inside looking out and cabin looks okay. Going up to Glasgow in a bit to look at a new shape C5 and a 159.

I am glad I can't weld and have nowhere undercover or I might...

I have never seen one of these on the road although once I saw several in a quality shite-shed in the middle of Hereford. An immaculate yellow one that had just been running (and had filled the shed with that special Ford-with-the-choke-out sort of exhaust gas) and at least two other Lele's, both in need of work. I'd gone there to view an Ro80 (terminally rusty- no sale). There were also a couple of rotten Honda S800s, that was years ago, I wonder what happened to it all?

Anyone toying with the idea to take it on, make sure you have sufficient real estate. Those are H-U-G-E !
