Mine bought a brand new Tabot Horizon on an A reg - we lived in a seaside village. He claimed that it was made of sterner stuff that the Simca predecessors which were all mouldering around the area.
It did last until D reg when it barely made it to the new, local Skoda franchise without dissolving.
Skoda man till the end then (bar a Pug 3008 that nobody mentions)

OK some tat - I'll see your manual SLK up above (which does have some decent looking front wings) for this one:

Bargain in Bath (not Truro) only £250. Did I mention it's a non-runner (no shit, Sherlock)

Immensely tough well made cars. Might* just be a battery.

Already gone. No wonder!

I'm still astounded at how utterly worthless SLKs seem to be. They're lovely wee cars.

Buy now while stocks last...

I still remember vividly when the first SLK's were current, I didn't think the prices would ever come down, such was the demand for them.

Approx 670,000 sold over three generations. That's a lot for an expensive two seater.

Have you ever noticed how some cars are much more likely to have aftermarket bargain bin wheel trims than other models of similar age? I searched for Swifts Mk II locally a few days ago, and the majority of them have Halfords-like generic trims on them. I had a Swift briefly, my dad drove one for eight years, neither of us ever lost a wheel trim. Maybe 20-25 year old Swifts are currently, on average, owned by a demographic that likes to buy cheap tat for their car...

The R171s are getting cheap now (even with the subframe renewed) so the R170s are falling into the weird chasm that's been inhabited by the MGF for some time now?
Two seater convertible that nobody seems to want - wait long enough and the one you want will come along cheaper than chips?

Ask my wife ;-)

That already sold on eBay recently. It received a respray, not a very good one unfortunately once you take a closer look.

@Schaefft I love the fact that you have the finger on the pulse of every high liability car on the internet.

That Dodge Van is another one for the late reg madness thread.

I blame the algorithm and my search alerts😂

They were making them up to 1983, so Y suffix is normal.
