This car is the oldest surviving Pathfinder know to the RM club, number 74 off the line and retaining all of its original early features including body trim and single front door windows. It was taken off the road and stored by its second owner in early 1962 due to a gearbox fault. The result is a completely original car.

I thought I'd pop in here with the roffle money and an upcoming spare insurance policy because 'what harm could it do' and the first thing I lay eyes on is this magnificence. Its MOT history isn't even that bad.

We won't scroll down any further and we'll ignore the three year hiatus in roadworthiness.

Something about that colour doesn't suit the car.

We’ve had that before and, although I think it looks cool as owt, something was putting me off.  It wasn’t the colour - maybe it was the price; It’s on an auction now so should find it’s true value.

Painting Ford badges red is like announcing you have leprosy. Everyone will avoid you.

I remember helping a mate do it on his Cortina P100 badges around 1993. Cool as penguin's piss at the time; less so 30+ years later.

I showed a college M8 how to do it late 1987 for his XR3 thinkalike 😉

Hmm I do wonder if that  crusty subframe is coming home to roost in 2026.

Sold at auction for £4k a couple of weeks ago. Could have at least found some hubcaps for it before doubling the price...

The fresh (orange peely and wavy) paint job coupled with time served bumpers, trim and interior really sell the "used car lot in 1986" vibe.

That is absolutely ace, despite the wheel trims. Didn't the 'L' model have side stripes and a PDM, though, or did I imagine that?

L did have side stripes, but if PDM is passenger side door mirror then not even a Granada Ghia had that as standard in 1976.
