the not MOT since 2017 is giving me the fear, but I totally would otherwise, an FX4 is a vehicle I would dearly love to own/experience someday

however sadly logistics just make it a non-starter,  mainly the parking situation here which ignoring the fact that its 1 car per resident, is emissions/engine size based with a diesel surcharge, so while say @wuvvum's Citroen Visa  would cost £130 to park for the year, this FX4 would cost me £723!

and the council have a 5 year plan of price increases where also the diesel surcharge goes up £50 a year so by 2027-2028 the Visa would cost me £147, but an FX4 Fairway would cost £1243!

£8,000? are they on drugs? 😂

Granted they are rare but not very popular, it’s missing the chassis plate, it’s rotten, the engine is left out to the elements, no interior, no gearbox, chrome gone…

Yes because nasty diesel engines emit particles even when parked with the engine off.

That's class!

Just a thought, ref. London could someone live in a camper van within the zone and (presumably) just move about a bit to avoid the ULEZ cops?

there's multiple ULEZ cameras on pretty much every major road and a load of minor ones too so you won't get far.  you'd have more chance staying still and just avoiding the curtain twitchers

The camper is ULEZ exempt, sorry I should have made it clearer and not worded it how I did. I wondered if you could live in it and just move it round so they didn't suss you out.

Couldn't you just park it outside @LightBulbFun 's place leaving just enough space for REV to annoy that BMW driver?

I do wonder how much of this is the *actual* reason a lot of cars are being sold from London? as sure ULEZ is a kick in the balls, but sadly I know my council is far from the only London Council to have parking charges like this, so if you have some 1980's-2010's diesel car and/or larger engined car that your street-parking, your getting majorly screwed over on parking charges even before you get to ULEZ

I wonder if anyone has asked them how they justify these varied charges?
I could understand if they charged by the length of the vehicle but not the emissions. For parking.
