I can't believe it took them fifteen years to do a convertible Metro and this was the best they could come up with.

I can't believe that they did one at all. What were they thinking/smoking?

It can’t be MoT exempt, it’s post 1960 and over 3.5 tonnes. Even if it was pre 1960 and exempt, that would only be valid for running unladen; put anything on the back and it  needs an MoT.

Won't it qualify with the over '40 years old' category?

Recovery trucks less than that age were only test exempt if over 3.5 tonnes, spec lift only and on recovery work dragging a taxed, tested and insured vehicle. Not that that stopped half the people on eBay trying it on with beavertail Transits.

Looks like Tesla's are creeping closer to Autoshite

mind you once you pay for repairs ..... :O

2019 Tesla Model 3 standard range plus Has High voltage battery fault, ideal as a breaker or if someone wants to get the battery replaced it’s a cheap car.

No, the 40 year thing isn’t applicable to anything over 3.5 tons.

As you say, the recovery vehicle exemption was only for spec lifts being operated commercially and recovering road legal vehicles.

Only pre 1960 vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are exempt from test, and only if running unladen.

Lots of stuff being listed as tax/test exempt that’s no such thing. Normally because it’s incorrectly registered for its actual use. That Ford is currently taxed with no MoT which suggests it’s registered as recovery or limited/agricultural/showman’s or whatever, none of which are actually appropriate if you’re not a farmer, showman, recovery operator and going to operate it commercially under a limited Operator’s Licence.

Personally, I’d not fancy my chances of getting that through a test without a significant amount of time and money.

Ignoring the actual truck, has anyone else tried driving with IBCs of liquid?

It's a real game undercracker changer when you're not used to them and you go flat out round a bend in Wales to find an HGV stopped at some temporary traffic lights and have to slam on.

We were passed yesterday by a 4x4.. but no arse end, just a platform with a Derv tank + hoses (probably for utilities ditch digging crap)....

He rode my boot for a bit then made his pass, his jank out followed by swift jank in again got the arse/axle/tyres 'bobbin n weaving' 😵.

WTF is going on with the paint/bodywork? The back end doesn't look like a  Dyson or FLF, so assume it's some sort of home made thing.

Think the back end is a replica of a Suzuki RG500, indicators filling the holes for the upper exhaust pipes.

In all my years of club racing in the 80's and 90's, I never saw anyone race a KH. They are far too heavy and way slower than any two stroke twin (except the CZ & Jawa)

They weren't desperately quick, but quite possibly the best sounding 250 of the day.

We used to have 5 delivered at a time with brand new clean hydraulic fluid for the test machines every couple of weeks at a place I worked. I thinknthat each time we tested and shipped a hydraulic valve there was 5 to 10 cc of fluid shipped with it. Given that we had 25 assembly lines producing up to 120 an hour of different types on 3 shifts 6 days a week, that was a lot of free oil we sent customers (which some complained about)

Yes and it’s much worse when they’re half full. You can feel them rowing you along!
