Renault 19 Chamade.  Shame about the dent in the door but at least this one has an intact head gasket.

Yeah but how crap does it look as a saloon?

Someone updated a R9 which is just proof that you can't polish a turd

It's that time again, where I post up cars that'd tempt me for if I was to move to North-West Oregon, using my real budget of $10k!

So let's get it out the way, the obligatory panther platform car!

This being the most expensive one I've featured but also the best condition and most OPA in spec! (Beige on beige Mercury with wood trim!)
At $8,000 it's fantastic, but not sure I could realistically getaway with it!

This all day long. They’re ten a penny at the moment. Lots of spares, lots of knowledge, lots of luxury comfort right there. After owning an 89 and sorely miss it, I’ve a hankering for one that shape now….

That made me chuckle. When I moved to the US in 1995 a big fuss was made that a 'limo' would pick me up at the airport as if I was a big shot. Imagine my surprise when it was one of those with the boot lid held down with rope. It was very comfy inside though.

While I understand making phantom two doors out of saloons if no such thing existed, welding up the back doors on a MK1 Escort looks cack

My first Mk1 was a 4-door with the rear doors welded shut, but in that car's case they'd left the original windows with quarterlights in place.  They'd also installed bubble arches but left the original arches in place underneath.  I did only pay £350 for it though to be fair.

That's not a BASE, it's a LUX. Much better specced...

It's the 1.1 though, so probably an even more miserable ownership proposition than Bornite's.

I can't even remember the last time I saw a Tigra mk1 on the road!

A 1.4 auto.  Like A Corsa without the space.

New* Vocksall Floppytop. Future classic M9. 1p start, no reserve,  in that Stoke. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234072415790?hash=item367fcd9e2e:g:Z3wAAOSwSA5g3ct-

Future classic 🤣

There's a future shiter if ever I saw one. Absolutely no redeeming features and unsurprisingly unpopular.

It will be loved by someone. Much like the Fiat Multipla.

Ever noticed that you don't see many Astra convertibles on the road either? The Mk4 Turbo wasn't a bad motor. The tin-tops sell terribly though (or twintop)

Optimistically priced base (NOT LX)

HFM?! Nice early one on a W, mind. I'd imagine it was rough around the edges prior to copious amounts of generic white being sloshed over the ginger bits though. Passenger wing joint to the front valance pretty much sums it up.

To be fair though, that join would have started to rust about 10 minutes after the car came off the production line.

There does seem to be an epidemic of shonky old Renaults being sold by gibbering idiots at the moment.

It's all very well having a go at Doubleyeller which is a collective, and collectively does not give a shit about your nasty opinions.

Fact is, as is known from previous incarnations as an individual member under a different name, bullying by you - and others - is rife on the beige.

So how are you going to feel when one day you make a sniping comment, and a week later someone's relative posts on here to say that they have killed themselves.

You will wonder if your comment was the last drop for that person. Not a nice feeling to live with.

Autoshite has recently lost Bollox, Bornite and other bullies. Good riddance, we are well rid of them! Don't fill the void.

I look back at the way Renault20tx was abused back in the day only for posting what he pleased, doing no harm to anyone, and none of you "morally outraged" shiteists come out of that at all well. Autoshite's lowest hour IMO.
