Anyone know where the photo location is for that 75? Might be some amusement in drawing a cock and balls on the road and seeing if it starts appearing in his photos.

Ferry Lane, Snaith, about 100 yards from their showrooms. It's a dead end so they may notice you painting it.

Its a City - they were the "entry level" Metro and were sold up to 86  with a couple of refinements but really fuck all in them  - but I have to say I have never seen one as late as that with the Mk 1 bonnet - thats what throws that one for me - the rest of the car looks City spec, but not the bonnet - I think it was 87 when the boggo ones got the flush bigger headlights & revised grille of the L spec and upwards. MarvinsMum will probably have a better idea. I wonder if its just had an earlier bonnet put on at some stage.

I used to drive one of these everyday, it was my gas board company car, same colour  reg number GTR 9 X  they had a large consecutively numbered fleet all the same dark blue and if you rose to the rank of supervisor, you were given a morris marina coupe or mk 1 ford ecsort......ah happy days.

The facelift came in on a B-plate across all models. You’re right that a City or base would’ve had recessed lights on a D-reg.

That one has bonnet, grille and headlamps (and non-metric wheels) transplanted from a phase 1.  Bumper could be original or transplant.

It's an odd one, which has been for sale for ages.  Mk1 exterior, but on a D plate and with Mk2 interior - see photo on Gumtree ad:

I think it’s the early model wheels that are throwing me. A mate in Scotland had an E reg City with the recessed lamps, though he soon binned then in favour of the flush ones from a Vanden Plas.

In the past I have tried to find out if you can buy those Metro and Montego metric tyres now anywhere. I have given up looking and concluded you simply can't, not at any price.

On the continent having the 'original' homologated tyre size is often an MOT requirement so i thought they might remain in low-volume availability over there long after everyone in the UK had swapped to imperial rims, (I remember dear departed Davenumbers battling with this issue actually) but I can't find anyone selling them anywhere.

That would really piss me off big time if I had a nice D-reg Metro City X in clove brown and I could not put the original wheels and tyres on it even  if I was ready to throw money at the problem. (Luckily I haven't got one so its not wrecking my sleep patterns just now)

I believe that several cars that originally had metric tyres have had wheels recreated in ‘normal sizes’ and TUV approved.

I think this car has been posted on this thread about 4 times in as many months!

Ah, my mistake. It is difficult to keep up sometimes!

I'm surprised its still for sale in that case. I thought a bag for a hot(ish) French hatch would have saw it fly out the door to a new owner.

Problem is that the ZX doesn't really attract the aggressive devotion that other / older Citroens attract.
