I'm not sure what the appeal of these are over the 'shooting brake' estate versions but they seem to command WAY more. I reckon the estate shooting brake versions are MUCH better looking. Might be more to it than that though.

Have we had this minty fresh bog spec Manta yet? £2850 doesn't look too rich to me.

Things have almost certainly changed since I was into them but I'd have thought a 1.8 hatch would struggle to fetch £2000. When I had Mantas a mint GTE Coupe was lucky to fetch £1500 and 1.8 hatches were £500 tops! That was over 10 years so honestly who knows nowadays.

I've turned down two Manta bargains in the last few years when I had the cash, which I wake up in then night crying about.

A rough but solid 2.0i Coupe for 1400 quid with a long mot.

A very nice coupe with a 2.0red top and bike carbs for 2200.

Shameless self promotion, I've run out of space (thanks to the council) and money (thanks to 2 months on the sick) not to mention that I'm too bloody big for the standard seat on its runners (my old one I just pushed it off the back of them for extra leg room) and don't want to modify this original car.  It's good fun to drive and I'll do a decent discount off the advertised price to a shitter - it's full AS colours inside and out after all.

I didn't do the ad, it's at my mates workshop.

I thought Mk1s had the body cladding on the sides and the steel slotted grille?

This one's a very late runout VIP special edition for the early spec Mk1s based on the higher spec 1984 onwards 45S model which had fully painted body sides and black bumpers . When Fiat Rebranded themselves for 1984 launching the Regatta and Face-lifted Strada/Ritmo with new Five bar grille logo, the Panda followed suit and gained that style of later grille too, at least in 45s trim.

That XJR-powered S-Type could have been a good idea if not for the inevitable air-ride, arch extensions and matt-black paint.

Whilst they'll never reach mk2 Escort prices the prices are def on the way up

2850 would have got a tidy coupe 18-24 months ago, with the "undesirable" hatch at around 1k
