As the voice of a lady* some where behind me says "Hello" and I reply "ooh-aargh! Hello" whilst simultaneously nearly going arse over t*t on the ice and being surprised by the gentle beckoning

The lady on her doorstep with her arms crossed next to a silent gentlemen asks "Is there any reason why you are taking photos?"

"I just like it" responds I heading towards my car...

GAZ never made a Volga pick-up but several conversions were made across the Soviet Union. Sometimes privately, many by small engineering shops....

:shock::o:huh:

Many years ago there was a 6 wheeled Jag/Capri pickup in Street Machine. The month after it was in the mag they said it was built by someone involved in designing the new XJ6 and it was some sort of test mule. Not sure if it was the April edition...

Not this one - got stolen IIRC

Ah here it is - wasn't a bloody pickup at all, that was that XJS one above!

The xjs pickup was done for I think either wolfrace or 100+ wheels.

Remember seeing the half jag/Capri parked up in mablethorpe.

That looks really nicely done. Rear window, chrome trims and curved front to the load bed elevate that above "home-made" I'd say.

El Camino parts?

A pickup based on a 1979 Mercedes W123? After all, it would be a perfect car – very comfortable, very durable, and at the same time with quite good utility values! And just such an ideal is the W123, which was built in the United States. It is a 300TD model, i.e. a 3-liter, naturally aspirated diesel, which left the factory with a station wagon body. However, parts of this body were deprived of the car, and its place was taken by a shortened body from the Chevrolet El Camino. And so it was probably the most beautiful pickup the world has ever seen. See for yourself:

“Currently the modifications are not yet registered in the log book, as it takes 3 to 5 weeks for that to happen. I need the space now! You can apply for them very easy,”

I can’t see the DVLA being too impressed with having the roof lopped off. Will it need an IVA test and a Q plate or something? They might not even allow it on the road at all.
