PLUCKED from it's parking space and ready to point south.

High powered sports car, seen here with an SLK.

They say you should never go back.

I absolutely love the power delivery on this thing. It just hooks, books, then goes and goes and goes. Getting back in it has reminded my of why it went in the first place though. It's very cramped and uncomfortable for a lad my size. With the roof down it's epic.

First things first then. Naked carpets will NOT STAND.

Luckilly, I had some OEM Merc nice rubber floor mats in stock.

A look round the car then. It has more brown and green then in previous years, but these colours come to us all eventually.

Brown.

I set off at ~530am this morning and had the roof down for 140 odd miles. Was glorious. Morning sunshine, supercharged whistling and almost no dobbers on the motorway.

The journey very nearly turned into a 4 legger with 3 cars collected but it didn't quite pan out right.

30mins of my journey was looking for the button for the fuel cap and driving home for some WiFi so I could Google it.

Had a good run round in the damp today.

It's a fun thing to drive, and very cool but getting into it after the Rexton really emphasises the lack of space in the SLK for someone my size.

Not sure whatll happen long term.

Spoilers, you just press the back of the cap door.

So the rear arches - when I bought it in 2012 on the blue forum there were some gentle blebs and the seller did them before delivering it to me.

That repair has held up well, I think! Perhaps it could be done again still. Shame the sill ends have succumbed 😕 Those wings have hung on precisely six years longer than the point where I'd started planning to buy genuine new replacements (£360 each at the time).

Dashboard is like ??. But that's not a hard part to source and replace... Also did it not have factory mats before?

Yay , another SLK back. I'm sitting in a Travelodge in Towcester.. realised today what Sally Traffic was going on about when she mentioned Toaster..

7 hours down in my SLK on the way to the Black Forest, 2nd tank just brimmed, working out at just over 36mpg, sitting all the way down the M6 with cruise on 80. Nothing to report.

It did have when it left, but not when it returned. I put some in to protect the clean carpets originally but they've disappeared over time. New ones in now though.

Love the over exaggerated head wobble 😄

Sounds good while on the guzzle though.

That's the car pulling Mach3. I was hanging on for dear life.
