And so say all of us.

Best series of engines ever made.

I love ragging the shit out of it and it just asks for more.

Since the threads been bumped by the not at all virgin not at all still breastfeeding left wing woke Taliban EV brigade, ill take this opportunity to do a small update. It'll have to be small because barely anything of note has occurred.

The passenger front caliper got pretty sticky, causing progress to be impeded. It was heating up a treat and dragging it's arse like a dog with worms. Thankfully a real grown up man stepped in and @Jimbob McGregor took it off to his garage for a strip down, clean up and bolt back together.

Since then it's been driving like a trooper (not that one) and been up into Scotland and back with no further issues.

I always try an make folk have a go of it where possible and have cornered @Lacquer Peel @320touring and @Dave_Q most recently.

I don't fish for compliments but I do carry a wheel brace under the seat and if I don't get at least an "it's not as bad as I thought it would be" in review, I could always wiggle it round in the air menacingly untill the test driver could think of something nice to say.

take your time. I can wait.

sports coupe and some old Japanese rubbish.

The Mercedes Rectum may be expensive, but at least the old timey department will still stock left hand starfish clamps in 20 years time.

She's a beast alright, like a less shit P38.

I think maybe the EV mans are just jealous, the **OBLIGATORY COMMENT ABOUT 5 POT NOISES** is way better than the shit fake Dr Who noise all EVs make.

I don't think there is any law about having a green patch on your number plate.

Anyway what could be greener than running on waste oil, you don't even have to mine one cobalt. Negative net carbon footprint innit

It's almost due it's second MOT man. I think it is an actual longevity record. Almost one year in service.

I take everything on the internet seriously. I don't think it's the right place to try to be funny or entertaining.  People should keep that kind of silliness to conversations irl.

Exactly. If anyone should be able to feel self agrandising and smug about saving the planet, it should be Greta JimBellberg, not the slave employing, child murdering, hole digging, battery jockeys.

They're the real problem.

Thankfully my numberplates aren't green. They're yellow and white with black lettering respectively.

Sorry I only screen grabbed a small portion but it describes the green strip to the left side like yours in that Internet discussion posted by Kilton

Might just be a trick of the light or something. Mine have got a little union jack in that area. Unless that's against the law as well these days.

Well truthfully its probably not long before we're not allowed GB anymore because great Britain is probably insinuating that all other countries are not or some shit like that.

The five cylinder beat goes on.

Minor boring update.

I've been planning on getting a spare key sorted since I first got the Rectum. I really hate having only key for a car. It's like not having rubber mats in a car. Makes my shit itch.

Thankfully, Autoshites resident long distance key kutter  @Dave_Q volunteered to have a go at cutting a key by eye. I sent of a potatocam pic of the existing key and a few short days later, a cut key landed in the post (AAA++++ FIVE STAR SERVICE)

The new key was close, cut from a Toyota blank, but a cuntpube wider a hamster penis longer than the original.

It would unlock doors but just wouldn't fit into the ignition port deep enough.

So. Maybe if FILES could be employed, the mothereffer could drop a bit deeper.

BRAKE OUT THE TOOLS.

File, file, blow, blow, measure, measure. Repeat.

Untill.

It only works.

And starts the car. Which was unexpected.

Bonus. Spare key finally achieved.

Other than messing about with keys, not much has been happening. It's still my daily and only car. I'd still hop in it and drive it anywhere (I really fancy trying to drive it to the Arctic circle on veg oil)

It's done almost a year on straight veg oil now without grumble or complaint.

Here are some recent pics from various points between Newcastle and Central Scotland.

@320touring even put a code reader on it, and it only came back with one historical code which doesn't seem to relate to anything.

Brakes work and all the lights work so God knows what that relates too.

Mot looms soon. Can I make it to a full year in continuous ownership?!

Let's find out.

If you can make one from that side on picture and the fact it's a Toyota blank then you can be the new key wrangler

Well it's anniversary time.

Its been a year in the loving arms of a Rexton.

Apparently you get a happy anniversary letter from the government if you keep a car for a year. Who knew?!

PXL_20230405_121936060.thumb.jpg.fbf8c7ef018254905d03a41a28bcd2e6.jpg

Which also meant it was time for a test.

Screenshot_20230412-143325.thumb.png.ce9c952b5cd430756600baafb4a4d47e.png

Completed it m8.

After a year, I'm still happy with it. I miss doing collection threads and trying new cars, but if you're on a budget, 290 Rextons make so much sense.

Probably. Sounds about right.

I expected more than that as you pictured it doing collection runs and scenic drive outs.
