How did I manage to miss the boat on this?

Anyway, anyone who wants to craw-out of a roffle ticket or two, can you please put me down on any reserve list?

I am hoping for a win. Then limping the car back to Accrington (it's down hill from Scotland) over the course of a day.

But obviously Dome winning it is just as good!

I reckon you could drive the 335 miles back if you’re careful.

My plan will be have a fully charged mobile and prior to leaving dial 99.

Cunningly leaving just one more 9 to dial as/when/if something happens.

I don’t think you’ll need to dial that last 9.

I’ll leave coolant in the car.

And maybe some butteries.

It kinda depends on when you pick it up.

Also, one more to pay for a Wednesday draw.

I do feel like I have a slight* monoply on here, drop me/Tayne a PM if you want one of my tickets.

If you win I'll be more annoyed at missing out on the butteries, although thanks to this thread I've just had 2 for breakfast so will probably cope.

What are butteries? I feel I should know....

Would this go further if you whipped the thermostat out so it didn’t get as warm?

Just thinking about cars with stuck open thermostats that never heat up properly

Although I suppose it’s not actually boiling itself is it? :-/

If you had attended SF18 you would know.

You need to find out. I'll bring some to the next track day, although the ones you get down here aren't a patch on a proper one from Aberdeenshire.

My cunning* plan was to undo the coolant cap for the drive home to allow the pressure to escape.

This worked on the Freelander I had which had a failed inlet manifold gasket.

Forfar, Lauder, Jedburgh, Capheaton should be enough stops to get me home in this.

I'd probably buy a bottle of that head gasket gunker as well though.

There’s a 5ltre bottle in the boot which is about half full, i’ll also add the litre of concentrate and a couple of litres of water.

With care, you could drive quite far...

Would make for an interesting journey if I were to win it :/

MPG may be questionable in this case.

May work out cheaper in the long run.

2005[edit]
  • Special Edition (including CD player and climate control) models introduced into UK markets, at this time no other models were available in the UK
  • Audi lost an estimated £4,000 on every A2 they sold and only made money on cars with optional extras. Continued production of the model was reviewed by the board of directors
  • Production of the A2 is halted by VW/Audi group boss Bernd Pischetsrieder [15]

Do these go over the bridge as "old cars" or "irony aluminium"?

Not sure the £60 will be worth your while....

Posted

I don't know if I'll be more annoyed if I win or if I lose...

I will be incommunicado at the time of the draw to make the reveal more exciting
