Audi Allroad - the Dad Wagon.

Well I've done about 200 trouble free miles over the last couple of days and it has performed well and seems happier for a service.

Looks nice when it is clean doesn't it.

One very minor thing is that I can ever so faintly hear the heater blower motor bearing starting to squeal. It is only when cold when i put the windscreen blower on so far, and it doesn't sound like to bad of a job to replace in my limited google research so I'm not too worried.

Interesting to read your experiences with the Allroad. I've always liked them, far preferable to a proper 4x4. I'd been tempted by one for a while, but the air suspension issues put me off, and I didn't really want a diesel; for numerous reasons.

Strangely 18 months or so later (2021) my boss bought one. Immediately said to a few colleagues that I liked them, but I'd be wary of the air suspension. Of course, within a couple of months the suspension buggered up.

He's still got it, had at least another episode with the air suspension; I think two actually but one was covered by the warranty from the previous fix. He also has an issue with his boot release, I think sometimes it wont open and then sometimes seems to lock/stick open. I suspect there's other things too but he is the sort to potentially just ignore them. He has covered almost 60k in the last 3 years or so, and definitely likes it.

I think the air suspension is more reliable than the reputation would have you believe and not as expensive to repair as people think.

When I had mine it did have some issues but I refurbished the pump for about £25 and put 2 new rear air bags on which were about £96 for the pair from China/eBay.

Doing airbags DIY isn't too bad, arguably easier and safer than conventional springs.

Well I shall be pouring one out to thank the gods of shite because it only bloody passed for another year:image.png.bfb09f0b3324f085b5082a692d080caa.png

No mention of the rusty subframe advisory that has plagued the last few year's MOT's either, thanks to giving it a vigorous scrub and a good coating of tetroseal. I'll reward it with a good clean at the weekend.

Not sure about the brake pipe, I know one was getting replaced so presumably the advisory is for the other side but I'll find out later. Happy days.

Ruddy great news! Congratulations that man.
