LightBulbFun Posted yesterday at 07:43 Author Posted yesterday at 07:43 as spotted on Facebook I see! another trip out in REV was had again over the Thames via Tower Bridge, for another round of that "MTG" my brother and his spouse, that he really wants me to learn/play with him and have now clocked up 200 miles in REV since she arrived home match had, somehow I won again? but I think its just because my deck is strong? (my brother was just like "this is a good starter deck buy it" but not sure its a good *stater* deck its complicated as fuck with lots of conditional, and, or, if statements, like its one giant computer program, makes your brain hurt!) I realised this was perhaps a bad idea after knackering myself with yesterday's running about, I could tell my brother was getting rather frustrated with the fact, I was fairly clueless a lot of time, just because I have now played once before does not mean I instantly know what im doing all of a sudden LOL, tbh its not really my thing, its somewhat fun when it gets going and your on top, but its fiendishly complicated otherwise and less fun when someone else is getting frustrated with you because your a bit clueless, im hoping next time I might be a bit less knackered and things might go smoother, but it was an excuse to give REV a trip out at least with that said, I made my way through the night and managed to get back home this time with out accidently sending myself along the Embankment! REV does certainly feel smoother after the motorway jaunt a couple weeks ago, but still quite a bit of shunting however when taking up drive, which does somewhat detract from the otherwise smooth drive when your in stop start traffic, I think ill try whip the bath-tub out, and attach a camera somewhere, so I can go for a drive and record what the pulley/belt/driveline is doing, see if I can pin-point where the shunting is coming from as an aside to that, I notice in reverse the speedometer doesn't seem to work/do anything! They specialise in Italian cars but work on other stuff by the look of it and an air cooled Fiat is somewhat similar to an Invacar mechanically. https://www.proietti.co.uk/italian-car-servicing-london.htm yeah I have got those guys in my radar for bigger stuff involving the rear suspension/rear axle so to speak, which is all Fiat 500 2 hours ago, plasticvandan said: Those plastic inserts are standard on Reliant bodies, and used to hold almost everything to the body, come in various sizes.what looks like has happened is the screw has corroded and swelled inside the insert, and the whole lot popped out of the body.simple enough to remove and replace with new. Land rover defenders of the mod variety use a lot of square plugs like these as well. thats cool! do they have a name or a part number or such I can search for? would be good to be able to replace everything with fresh hardware 2 hours ago, plasticvandan said: Plenty of options about for bowls,I tended to go for plastic bases as that way they won't rust again. yeah still deliberating what I want there, on one hand im tempted to try find some like for like Lucas metal bowls since I they should (in theory) be a like for like replacement without having to possibly worry about drilling any extra holes or the such like, but at the same time I know the inner metal basket they have, have clearance issues with the side light position on H4 headlamp reflector units, although I think the metal might be thin enough you can just cut that section out to clearance it 2 hours ago, plasticvandan said: I would suggest finding a thick piece of rubber to wrap around that fuel pipe before tiring it right against that metal bar,it will still vibrate and move about but is now up against the steel. yeah some extra protection cant hurt, but I figured for the here and the now if I strapped it tight enough to the metal such that it cant move about, then it should be a bit better then letting it chafe up against that edge like that lesapandre 1
lesapandre Posted yesterday at 10:25 Posted yesterday at 10:25 Putting some extra paint on any replacement bowls before fitting may be a good idea. Regards Facebook I'm not on there. I'm in two minds about having my lifestyle photographed and put on the web - impossible to stop but as long as it's benign that's OK -ish. Any really really nasty comment will fall under Malicious Communications Act 1988 and other statutes and may be a crime. egg 1
