Hey,

Currently own a 1997 MG F which used to be owned by DriveTribe/AutoAlex. This is my current daily driver

2011 Octavia VRS which I have owned for 7 years (currently very broken with a suspected HGF. Imagine that happening on the Skoda and not the MG F!) and a 2008 Berlingo van currently being used as storage

Have owned around 60 cars over the past 15 years or so. None of them amazing :D

Based in Leicester

Cheers

HGF on an MG truly un heard of

welcome aboard the hms autoshite

Hello there.

Just joined after watching Hubnut's recent YT video about his new Toyota Avensis 2.2D. The car has an "AS" sticker on the back bumper, and between that and his (positive) comments I was able to figure out the name of the website. I hadn't heard of the place before, but since I enjoy his channel and car collection, his endorsement provoked me to sign up..

I daily a 14-plate Honda Civic which currently has 196k miles on it, although that increases by about 800 miles per week. And I have a yellow mk1 MX5 'California' for sunny weekends. I would argue that neither of those are shite, although given their cosmetic condition, others might disagree.

hello and welcome to the land of shite

Been a lurker for a while. Signed up a couple of months ago I think. Absolutely love running a shitter. Nothing ive got at the moment is too shite though. Oldest is a 2005 astra I picked up in 2019 for £360. Not needed too much doing to it other than brakes, tyres, a weld up exhaust bodge and routine servicing. Been brilliant at general car stuff.

Got a 2009 auto 1.6 petrol focus too which has amazingly avoided the tin worm. Drinks far too heavily for what it is though.

Then the wife's got a 2013 fiesta picked up cheap when a family member wanted to trade it in. Got this 3 years ago and I had to weld the tail end of the outer sills up almost immediately. Just under 10 years old and they were rotten, very localised though luckily. Now absolutely full of dynax s50 in every hole i can get it in. Its got the 1.6 tdci 8v lump in and is the econetic. Seems to get mega mpg which is great.

Afternoon everyone,

After some time lurking I have decided to join in on the action. I am now the proud owner of a Mk. 3 Mondeo, 1.8 LX. It set me back £750 from a dealer with a year MOT on it. The body is solid and the smoke is fairly clear. I love it to bits and I am looking forward to tinkering with it on the drive on my days off. Since I collected the Mondeo I have removed the wheel trims, cleaned the interior out and intend on fixing the rear washer over the weekend. Everything on it works, which I am pleasantly surprised with

Previously had all manner of cars, but my last one was a Hilux. I like full size American and British saloons and once I’ve got a garage built I want a Jaguar XJ in it. I’m also partial to old Volvos and Mercedes Benz

I've scrapped a couple of diesel Mk4 mondeos but I had a mk3 petrol 2.0 and that was actually really good. I had the fastback, I need the estate really so that's the only reason I got rid.

My £450 mk3 Mondeo replaced my E46 325i and it wasn't too much of a letdown so I rate that as pretty good really.

Hello! long time lover of slightly shite cars since I was a kid, and recently picked up my first car. Coincidently the same model as my childhood one which got me into the hobby in the first place lol

Its a 1998 Toyota Corolla G6 liftback with 59k on the clock and the 4E 1.3, surprising  cheap insurance not that it would matter as I live in london as an apprentice and get to enjoy LEZ fines . Despite this I love it to bits since I have been searching for a black G6 corolla for the best part of 3 years and could have never dreamed of actually getting one as a first nugget!

My families original G6 was sold in 2018 after owning it from new, the new owner shortly scrapped the car which very much upset child me, so when i was able to find this one in as good of a nick as it was i had to jump on it, £1900 later here we are!

Hello folks, been lurking a bit.

Planning to get a tatty Morris 1300 GT back on the road, currently working on getting the engine started after having had it sat in a garage for 27 years or so.  Red oxide on wing followed a light contact with the central reservation on the A1 and a make-do repair.  Not fully investigated the state of the rear subframe mounts yet, have found a couple of holes elsewhere that need addressing.  Probably not the most extensive of projects tbh.

Previous offences include a Mini 1000 through college (with lots glassfibre ahem) and a Sierra for a few years after that.  I was using the Morris for commuting in between owning those two other cars.

Hi all. I was here about 12 years ago, but not been in for a while, what with mental breakdowns and one thing and another.   Current daily is this Auris, largely due to lack of affordable RWD Volvos.  (Auris is a bit dull but fantastically reliable) Also own a Foxbody mustang 5.0 that may even see the road again at some point .

Hi, finally got round to registering, after hearing a few mates talk about the shiteness here…

Currently own a few cars, some are more shite than others:

Daily = 2014 Mondeo estate, previous cat N write off so it was cheap, and it’s £35 a yr to tax…

1979 Citroen Visa Club 652cc twin cylinder. Jaune Mimosa (bright yellow) and apparently the oldest one left on UK roads. (FOTU famous!)

1999 Lotus Elise in British racing green.

2003 BMW E39 530d Touring, with 220k on the clock.

Welcome, this is where I hang out with my Visas.

I love this forum because of the variety and your fleet having a Visa and Elise just hits the spot.

Your Visa is a very well know and liked car that has been a regular at Citroen Car Club events.

The picture is June 2008 when it was parked next to my Visa 10E, I had at the time.

Brilliant! Thanks for posting that. I bought the Visa from a friend, Jamie (who I’m guessing you might know from the Visa world!)

He bought it from Mike Harker who had owned it for years, so I’m guessing you know him too. This is the earliest photo I’ve seen of it, which is interesting, as it looks like it was taken after it was restored. (Unless it’s been restored more than once, of course!)

I took it to the Chevron Rally and the Citroen Owners Club rally last summer, and it was like turning up with a celebrity - as you say, it’s a famous and well liked car in the Citroen community!

How’s it going - recently just got accepted into this.

Coming up almost 2 years since I passed my test and my brain has slowly been plagued by shite cars

currently have 2 cars at the moment

2006 NA Subaru Impreza Wagon (my first car)

2011 W204 C-Class 250 CDI

Got both for pretty cheap, both high mileage. Bit of a rust issue on the Merc, so will need to look into welding potentially, but both been reliable (so far)
