Maybe 13mm? Granted not quite as useful but still pretty important 🤣

I went with 10mm because I identify with the 10mm more. Likes to be useful but almost always lost.

So, the plan today was to go out and do some winter prep on the 107. Already carried out the basics you'd normally do when buying a new car, oil, filters, plugs. Also did a bit of rust coverage on the multiple injuries it has picked up over the last 17 years in the hands of many 17 year old amateurs. At some point the aerial has leaked water into the headlining and corroded a bit around the windscreen too. Only sanded back the rust and put a bit of primer on, but it's good enough for the moment. I have a water pump and belt to go on it just in case, and a wheel bearing to go on the back. Today's job was to remove the plugs from the sills and fill them full of cavity wax but I got distracted by the spare room needing painted so did that instead. I'll get photos of the thing when I decide to go out and do some of the work I'm putting off doing. I'm very impressed with the little thing though, the easiest car I've worked on in years and there's also nothing really to go wrong with it.

Welcome all.

Aren’t we supposed to lose 10mm socket instead of have 2?

Hi all, I joined this forum ages ago, but not posted much before. I've been looking for a classic car to take to show and use at weekends for a while. I always fancied a Rover P6, so I went to look at one for sale. It was a good car in great condition, but for some reason, I didn't really take to it. I found that the Rover P6 wasn't the car for me, no idea why.

But I went to look at a completely different type of car the next day, and I made a heart over head decision. Despite the fact it wasn't quite as advertised. The ad said no rust, but there was rust. The ad said mechanically sound, and technically it was, but it's not been serviced for a while, it needs the radiator reconditioning, and a new cambelt and water pump. I asked the seller in a message whether the folding fabric roof leaked, he said it was fine, but it's not sealing properly. So given all that, I should have walked away. But I didn't, because it's a very cool little car, it looks different and is very rare.  Finding parts might be an issue too. But I have agreed to buy it anyway. So, in a few days, I shall be the proud owner of a Nissan Pao. It's a decision I might well regret, but the thing's so darn cool, I couldn't resist buying it! 😃

Hi all! Im.. Ston.. Kev.. Yes another one.
...
Pics.. pics are good, people like pics.. right?

Erm.. ok I might have forgot about the pics.. I've had the Mazda 3 for just on 4 months now and in that time I've 'just been driving'.. I've not yet.. taken it for a wash and / or photoshoot. - It's just nice to be driving again. So for now, here's the.. non-special pics I do have for the car which I am trying to keep as.. a thing to get me around, rather than falling for it, because they are.. a pain in the arse and money pits and other things that drain the wallet.

In that time I've had.. two issues with it. The first was just a leaky valve on the right rear tyre, it was taken off, repaired and put back on - First time in some 20+ years of driving that I've realised that tyres can be repaired and it doesn't instantly mean it needs a replacement! (Yeh, I am that kinda.. idiot).
Then a couple of weeks ago the Power Steering developed an issue, a leak somewhere.. under there. Took a couple of weeks but had it fixed and thankfully (touch wood) it's all good now for a while.

What about older cars.. do we share photos of them here too or elsewhere? - Don't wanna make a mess of the place!

Hi all, I thought I’d had an account on here and not posted for about 12 years, but that turns out not to be true! I’m Aar0sc, same username on the now defunct Popular/Practical/YoungGuns Classics forums. Have had:

Sunbeam Rapier fastback (utterly shite)

Triumph Dolomite 1850HL (kept it a month and sold it on)

Triumph Spitfire 1500 (owned it 14 years and don’t want to ever get rid)

Peugeot 309GL (cracking car for £500, taken before his time and torched by joy riders after they’d experienced the pleasure of a 1.3 single carb…)

Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5 (most recent modern, had for 5 years and 50k, sadly succumbed to tin worm at the last MOT)

currently hunting for the next modern for around £1500

That looks great, I can see why you bought it. It reminds me of a Reliant Rebel. I assume it's Micra based like all those weird old Nissans (I mean weird in a good way of course) so mechanical parts shouldn't be a problem?

I'm new here, so hello Auto Shiters. I drive a C8 bus and fuck me she's hard work to repair,  just done the front exhaust gasket to turbo. What a bitch!!!

Delighted to say I have some new shite, £1400 worth of 2007 Volvo V70 SE Auto, 2.4D. 168,000 miles, all the toys, full leather, very good stereo, pulls very well (I am having to be a lot more careful than I was with the disco). Unfortunately a light smell of cigarette smoke but I’m hoping to clean that out this weekend. Apparently wasn’t smoked in but the owners wife was a smoker… he told me after I’d bought it.

I’ve been a lurker on here for a while. I’ve enjoyed the general advice on here and people’s passion for motoring and the normal cars.
