Seriously, how do you find them?

Like many people who do this kind of thing, by telling people who don’t know any better “oh scraps real low at the moment love (it’s not) I’ll give you £30 and take it away, save you the hassle” more than likely

£30!?!?!!

So what’s wrong with it? These things are usually pretty bulletproof so what’s going in the parts shopping basket?

Perhaps a clue lies in the Grim Reaper avatar?

Yellow? Did they run out after the first coat and finish off with silver?

As if a Hyundai Accent "coupe" wasn't grim enough, you find one in that colour.

Top work.

No, I don't want it.

That would hide splashes from the colostomy bag quite well...

It needs a proper name that colour.

"Geriatric Catheter" has a nice ring to it

You do all of course realise that with that body shape and five spokes that Shadow has moved into the sports coupe market?

Well bought! I like these Accents, bit like Sanderos they are just 'an car' and therefore appealing.

Though I prefer the 1st generation to be honest, more 90's!

I learnt to drive in one of these. It never liked to go into 3rd and the driving instructor had a habit of insisting that the clutch needed adjusting.

"Wogans Slipper Gold"?

"Werthers Metallic"?

If theres ever another world war, Im going to The Shaddow for all my black market under the counter needs. How DOES he turn up stuff like this armed only with enough money for a basic lunch for two in Weatherspoons?

Or, to look at it another way, by promising to save people the hassle of dealing with the type of life form one normally encounters when trying to sell a cheap car via Gumtree / eBay / etc.

I had an Accent 1.3 once - pre-facelift version.  It was surprisingly inoffensive.  Only problem was, I bought it in the dark under street lights and was convinced it was red - it wasn't until I got up the next morning that I found out that it was in fact pink.

trust me the black market,is alive kicking, 8) 8) 8) 8),too hot do anything,service,oil change tomorrow,if cooler,

what these actually like to own/drive??

I would imagine quite Japanese - generally solid, low maintenance, foolproof, etc.  Not exactly cutting edge but who cares kinda thing.  Never owned a Hyundai but have had a Kia and yeah, it was no 205 GTi but it did everything I wanted it to do without any fuss whatsoever,

They could save that hassle by just ringing an actual scrap merchant and getting 2-3x as much

Last time I tried that, I took a day off work and sat at home like a twat all day waiting for said scrap merchant to appear.  He never turned up.  Didn't return any phone calls either.  I would be surprised if my experience was a one-off.

Reliable, not particularly good on fuel, well built but from cheap materials.  Inoffensive transport in the Daewoo Lanos / Mk1 Kia Rio idiom.

Like the time I called one up to collect a fucked Punto.

“Oh - you want paying for it do you? Ok well we’ve got to

collect it etc. Blah”

6 hour wait in for about £90. I also got a mouth full of petrol too.

Never again.
