One of the engines you must own before you die apparently. I have a massive WANT for this.

Wait until you get the bill for a belt change though :-(

As a serial Alfa licker I’ve been on the lookout for one of these for some time. Sadly I don’t think this one is for me (cheap tho)....

GLWS, nice to see one here.....

I know, but that's around the price you can get a car with one of these engines in it though.

Even now? I've seen these proper Alfa v6's increase in value nowadays (unlike the GM junk in the 159 and later). Also a lot harder to find the cars with them too. Most have rotted or broken and scrapped.

Bloody hell, thought that was my old one for a sec, same colour, plate, everything.

They’re bloody lovely cars GLWTS

Oh...and if you have a VAGCOM lead, download MultiECUscan for free (fiat/Alfa software), you can reset the airbag light with it

I was offered a 24v GTV late last year for £800 in pretty good condition with a few months mot as it wouldn't sell for some reason. Did need a belt change though which is what put me off so they are still out there. I think it ended up in NI.

Thanks for the kind replies.

Belts were done fairly recently, there's a stack of invoices for the general upkeep of the car. All I've done is changed the coolant (which was clean when it came out anyway).

  • 2 weeks later...

Bit of a bump for this, BMW threw a DPF warning light so I'll have to flog the Alfa fairly pronto. I'll get it back from the workshop late tomorrow and will throw a scratchy yellow sponge at it before eBaying it. That Busso engine ... oh my. I'm going to miss it.

Ucking nice...stuck on barges though, I need space. Best engine sound evah. Seats were orrible though, all slippery.

Agree on engine sound. I love the seats; proper, thick leather. Driving position is typically Italian, legs short, arms long.

Richard I have seen the video when you initially purchased the car. You seriously should be on TV. Only wish I could afford this beauty!

Thanks. I've been on TV a bit.

Am waiting in for a plumber and a potential buyer, which one will cancel first? I wonder if I can pay the plumber with a GTV for fixing my leaky bog? Or, if he gets here first, if the car buyers knows about bogs? My life is full of mystery and wonder.
