Mk1 Focus 1.6. *Roffle* WEDS DRAW

Recommended Posts

The 01-03 Mondeos did this, the seam sealer supplied by Henkel was shit and didn't work hence the rusty doors.

Think quite a few owners had the doors repaired or replaced under warranty due to this.

Its not really a creak, theres no noise as such if thats what you mean. More just like a tiny area of slight resistance when turning the wheel right of dead centre.

Jack front up on both sides and get someone to turn the wheel whilst you rest a hand on the tie rods and the steering UJ, you should be able to track it that way.

Nice car Jim Bell. I've now done 1000 miles in my mk2 and love it.

Cheers fella. I'd update this thread but the Focus is just continuing to provide dailly service with no issues.

I checked the oil and coolant last month. Both were unmoved.

Boring reliable motoring at its best.

Technically - thats a MK 1.5 I believe (Facelifted). The Mk1 had the indicators in the bumper below the headlights.

I have some floor mat grips and cup holder liners from a MK1 is anyone is in need..

Afternoon shit-pickers!

Mrs Wilsons has long lusted after a 1.3 Yaris and our very own South Coast Stanky has one that he's happy to part with.

That means the Focus is surplus to requirements.

I could bang it on eBay or gumtree but that can prove painful when selling at the bottom end of the market so maybe there's a bit of appetite here for a bit Roffle action.

The car is an 04 mk1.5 Ford Focus 5 door manual 1.6.

It's just over 132k.

Mot till 08/03/19. Please check the mot history. It's decent and gives an indication of the cars condition.

We've had it for 9 months and in that time it's had new disks and pads and a new manifold/Flexi (was blowing at the Flexi and it's an all in one unit). It was serviced about 8 months ago ish with good ford oil and Bosch filters. All this is chronicled in the thread.

Pics.

Things I can think which may interest possible new owner:

Drivers mirror stableised with strong black tape.

Rear demister only currently works on a few bars. Enough to be effective.

Air con not working. Not investigated.

Slight notch in steering feel just to the right of dead centre. Not bad but you notice it. I thought it might be a ball joint but were checked when disks were done. Tame mechanic said steering uj might want lubed.

There's lots of small minor scratches and small women's dents. Nothing worth pointing out but there's a few imperfections.

Rust on the bottom of the driver's side rear door (TADTS).

Clutch is high but doesn't slip. Scaryoldcortina had a look at it and the verdict was: "It'll pull away in third."

Can't think of any other areas to talk it down in. Never let us down and drives nice. They're sprightly for what they are and they make a decent noise.

Will upload a vid of it running.

Located North East England near Newcastle. NE34 POSTCODE.

Looking for £6.00 a number or a pair for £11.00.

Cheers all.

I always thought it sounded a bit ticky but tame mechanic said it sounds like they all sound.

Could paint it striped both and see if Courtney Love fancies it?

You still got her number?

I tweeted her many times to find out where my jumper ended up.  But to no avail.

Somebody mentioned something about a Hard Rock Cafe in Mexico, but have seen no evidence...

I live in Newcastle and my folks had one when I were a lad. One random, please.

Shes probably had other stuff on her mind man.

My wife has one of these, it is surprisingly excellent.

Yeah, I cant fault them.  Theyre reasonably quick, reasonably economical, reasonably big and reasonably small. They also ride and handle reasonably well.

I imagine Puma 1.7s are similar but a bit more "sports car".  I get in this one every few months and I'm always surprised at how much I like driving it. But then I get out and forget about it completely again.

I bought one of those brand spanking new in that colour in September 2004 and put 60-odd thousand hard miles on it. Absolutely adored that car.

Two randoms as a starter please.
