Banoze

The banana based technology was intriguing, but not as much as the 'Drive with EU technology' strapline. So is Banoze a sub brand of an EU manufacturer? Of course it's not; however look at this statement from Banoze -

So they pass EU regulations that's a very very long shout from EU Technology, it's technology that passes EU regs. As all tyres must pass these regs is this statement even legal? They're made in India.

You do know I made the banana thing up?

Well at least “All tyres are made carefully”; that’s a winning statement in my book. I fucking hate clumsily made tyres…

Forgot my BMW had a cheap tyre on it the dealer fitted to get it through a test.

Does not detect planes. Very disappointed.

Ah, these are Serbian tyres! Also branded as Riken, Taurus and Orium. Owned by Michelin since 2007. WinterA are quite capable winter tyres. People run them as all seasons here and wonder why they don’t last, but being cheap they just chuck another set on. 😄
They also do UHP summer tyres that some people rate decently but I found them shit and significantly worse than Sava UHPs that are tiny bit more expensive. Touring ones I didn’t try. They also did thankfully now discontinued Sigura which is THE worst tyre I’ve ever driven, and absolutely lethal on anything, including 54HP mk1 Golf.

Was watching the 'Flexiny' YouTube channel where he is reviving a Mercedes W123. Part of the things ilhendoes just before recovery is to blow up the flat tyres, this Mercedes was wearing "Californian II" tyres.

No, I've never heard of them either, I wonder if they was a "Calfornian I"

This one is apparently a "Winston" tyre.

I have one of those strange memories that has absolutely no use to me but remains in my head all the same, of watching a documentary about police trying to solve a crime, and finding a tyre track that was from a Tigar, which being so unusual helped them solve the crime as the suspect had one on his car. Must be the best part of 40 years ago I saw it too

My mate's just bought a cheap Fiesta for his kid. We're both into 80s BMXs so a Diamondback seems appropriate

Not a daft tyre name, but definitely a daft (as in totally lethal) tyre - the Pneumant. Without doubt the worst part of an MZ, ditch the Pneumant before it ditches you; like happened to me in front of a gaggle of girls at 10 mph on some wet leaves in the Uni car park on my ETZ250. Swapping for Avons changed the handling, braking and overall staying up abilities 1000000%. Anyhow talking about Pneumant ditch finders here's another of their products which I had no idea about, and if fitted to porcelain wear in the UK could well help what passes through to find a ditch (see what I did there? Right on kids)...

Yes they also made bog seats, presumably from the same material as the tyres. You don't want anything sticking to the seat in the same way you don't want your tyres sticking to the road. 'Curry' is a strong name for a lavie lid.

Took the grandparents car for 4 new tyres today and got these delightfully named ones fitted

IMG_4813.jpeg.7cbcfef0da8a2227c2544ca7c044bccb.jpeg

reliaX apparently!

they feel significantly better than the mix of 10-20 year old mismatched rotten rock hard winter tyres on it before, there’s actual grip now

I saw a Royal Explorer II tyre the other day.

Similarly I wondered if there had been a Royal Explorer tyre previously
