I was pleased to spot this hiding down a side street, you can just imagine it belong to old boy who uses it once a week for his shopping, lovely.

not quite and old boy hes in his 40's! Owned by my mates brother, was once a very tidy car -owners club charman or something like that was the previous owner. I've done welding and brake work on it. I even offered to buy it once but it really is deteriating fast :? Scrapes though the mot each year with the bare minimum of work done only does 100miles of so a year to.

I think i preferred my story!, It did look very shabby though, I can't imagine it having many more years left before It needs to have a lot of money spend on it.

your story would have been true if you'd spotted it 10 years ago! I still want to get my hands the the vogue one day.

Lovely stuff as ever.

Is it wrong to want to take that Mk3 Astra home and cuddle it back to life?

626 looks ace, wonder if it's the model that would originally have been fitted with those lovely full-width stainless trims?

Loving that Humber it wants leaving as it is 8) Good pics I think your being a bit unfair about your camera phone.

Posted

The couple who bought my Bedford CF also had a sliding doors camper. I forget the story behind it but it must be pretty rare; I think it's a proper conversion, not a homebrew effort.

Posted

Going by the grille, I'd say that Humber is a Super Snipe, not a Hawk; the four-headlight nose didn't come in immediately, it was a facelift. Cracking spots though, and I love that CF!

Thanks guys.

Sorry, It was only the Escort that was with my phone, It looks ok on here but normally they are pretty naff, especailly considering my phone is meant to be a pretty good one.

There's a 61-plate G-wagen kicking about in Dundee, that I've seen. White, with drug dealer spec blacked-out windows. I'd be greatly disappointed if the owner doesn't turn out to be a sheikh of some sort! I'm also surprised that so many of the old ones are still around: weren't some bits of the 4wd system and front suspension supposed to be a nightmare to fix?

Great spots, Trig - I like the very late R5. It would be nice to think that if the owner ever cleaned the bookies out, they'd just go on driving it, just as it is!

How it that Rascal pickup's windscreen road legal? Half the bloody thing is covered in stickers

True, but it was actually the bit out in front, hanging off the bullbar that had me wondering!

Posted

I'd love that Mazda pick-up, obv I would have to repair the suspension like but it looks a cracker.

Posted

That little Rascal is a long way from what appears to be it's home. It should be loudly tooting it's myriad musical horns while zooming down an Indian freeway at maximum throttle. How it's legally allowed on a UK road I have no idea, the rabbit hutch in the back is a nice* touch.

Is it just me, or does that blue Cortina mk3 look like it's actually posing to have it's picture taken?
