I remember them! They Used to fly BA146's out of Southend until about 10 years ago.

a BA146-300 used to go out twice a day from Southend (Mon to Fri) taking Ford staff to Cologne and back, I believe that was run by Flightline and when that service suspended they folded.

Among the Ford staff flying out to Cologne regularly was my grandad, he was based out there for about 10 years in the 1980's and 1990's.

That ad is a superb find Trig, is it for real?

I spotted this on Google yesterday.

You'd think a blind man would have friends to advise against that shirt and tank top in 1981!

Sadly it's a photoshop, but it's a good one. This is the original advert.

Visiting a publishing company in Amsterdam today, I found this on the front cover of 'Auto Week Classics' magazine in reception

The great headline translates as "under the spell of three wheels"

I've just seen a pea green Wartburg Tourist/Knight (the estate version) heading north along Chalkwell Avenue in Westcliff, towing a massive trailer! The reg was B603 PGX, does anyone know it? Apologies for the picture fail, but I only had my phone on me and would have struggled to turn around and catch him up. Made my afternoon anyway.

Went to A family wedding last weekend in Kew.

Was surprised at the quality and number of pre-2000 cars in London, obviously the locals seem keen to keep their motors in good nick and make them last longer than is typical in Birmingham.

Made a start digging the wob out of the Flavia today.  Under the bubbles on the arches is a surprisingly large amount of metal, enough in fact to patch in fresh bits.  Why so much wob was applied is rather mystifying.

I papped a few on a day around Kew a few weeks back, pickings were rich, including an MG Montego, BX, and Mk1 Astra. These may/may not be posted eventually.

I was in Leigh on Sea this afternoon and found a couple of Sierra's plus a red Ford Consul parked in Marguerite Drive.

Didn't see the green Wartburg though, I passed home through Westcliff about 3pm 'ish.

You must have just missed it! With the car trailer on the back it looked like the bloke might have been on his way to collect some more shite as well.

Is the red Consul XKP960A? With a white roof?

Yes, it did have a white roof, but I wasn't able to pap it because I was driving down a one way road and there was no where to briefly pull over. There is also a white Nova saloon parked further down Marguerite Drive so I may pop back over there to pap the pair at the weekend.

Yeah I know the Nova you mean, another one I've been meaning to snap for ages but never got around to. Think it's owned by an old giffer, possibly supplied by Jessups Vauxhall who used to be down Milton Road in Westcliff.

If the Consul is XKP 960A it used to be owned by the bloke I bought my Cambridge from, think a bloke in Shoebury has it now. It used to be quite ropey bodily but it's had a lot of work in recent years.

Saw Proton. Checked mirrors, nothing behind, stopped dead in middle of road, took photo.

Only then did I realise how insane that would sound if I had to explain it to a normal person.

Wow  !  Where on earth did you find that Renner Six?

Over the road from the church on Kew common. It even has French plates!

Just scored some 4l cans of 10w40 semi synth and 15w40 diesel mineral for 4 quid a pop from Tescos.  Should make for some cheap oil changes.

How the hell do you fit 12 kids into a Sunbeam Talbot 90?

They were thinner back in the 80s.
