What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Excellent photos Junkman. P6s look strange on wire wheels but in a good way.

It's a shame the convertible never made it to production as it's pretty damn handsome.

Just another missed opportunity. There also was a very handsome pillarless 2-door hardtop prototype.

In fact, the P6 saloon was supposed to have frameless door glass, too, and all styling mockups and several prototypes show it this way.

The window frames were phased in late in the development process.

Graber in Switzerland converted several saloons to convertibles and hardtops.

Not had anything to grin about lately, crap area I live in, crap people surrounding me etc....

But small things do make me grin sometimes.....

I was looking up a TV show on Google when I came across this British "Rap" album by some young Asian rap artist who goes by the name of AC. His album cover prominently features a Rover 75 8):D

RESPCeT YO!

That has to be the most un-suited car to go on the cover of a rap album of all cars...what on earth made him use a Rover 75?

P6s are fab. I haven't owned one yet, but I really, really have to at some point. An early (S1?) 2.0 in white would be my ideal one.

Removed, welded and refitted my broken window regulator.

As a bonus, the glass no longer rattles in the door. Turns out the fixed rear channel was bent and the glass was coming adrift when fully lowered.

Anyone that knows mk3 Escorts will probably agree that the regulator design is BULLSHIT.

Reason to grin 1) It is almost the weekend

Reason to grin 2) The impending Rangie MOT fail and sky-high repairs bill is not nearly as bad as first feared. Hopefully, I will have her back, MOT'd and ready to take on the winter by next week.

Oh, and I just appear to have hit my 100th post and bagged an upgraded rank to a Maxi in the process - today just gets better and better

No, the tyres were almost bald on the edges but fine in the middle. I didn't measure the extent but I reckon the centre 3/4 might have been OK. I was aware that they needed changing asap, but hadn't got round to it   In fact, ever since I bought the car, one of the (directional) front tyres has been on backwards and bugging the hell out of me, so at least I can stop (OCD) stressing about that

I know I should have argued the front fog (my tester couldn't believe they'd listed it as a defect, and confirmed that he never tests them) but on the day in question I had a hundred things to do, and couldn't be arsed for the sake of one bulb.

well I thought as long as the centre 3/4 was o.k then you were fine, that's what on line guides and the MOT man say anyway. I guess it's best not to argue with the cops though. My front fogs have never been tested either, not a requirement as far as I know.

V-O-L-V-O Rap video

LIKE IT.

Scarily I look a bit like the geezer in the video and I'm not impartial to a bit of Rap/Hip Hop. I am almost very tempted to make a cover version of that tune called "R-O-V-E-R my Rover.

That is just you isn't it?

Blatting round the M25 when a minty mc mint FX4 shape black cab zooms past, it was absolutely pristine and going at a real lick! I presume it was not BMC diesel powered.

Blimey. That climb looked scary. I see he wasn't brave enough to reverse down on the gearing! The video stops just before he reverses into a tent by the look of it.

When can I have a go?

My 1/43 scale Princess model arrived today.  Turns out I couldn't resist leaving it in the original cellophane and I already have all my modelling tools out to get cracking on putting it together.  It's a nicely detailed little kit, I've just got to decide what colour to paint it all.

Can I suggest the shade of purple you fancied painting the beige one, just to see how right/wrong it would look?
