Sorry but i don't get it? it's hardly retro in my eyes, it's had it back windows boarded out, god knows why, spring cut, steel wheels fitted and it's painted bumpers redone grey.

Top quitting. I've been reliably informed that after a certain amount of time, you start to find the smell of other people's fags genuinely repulsive, rather than tempting. After that, you know you can stay off them easily. Although I've no actual experience of it, so that could be total balls.

Good wrk! Don't get cocky with it*, but IIRC it takes about 3 days for your body to say, "yeah ok then don't need that". From then on it's all just overcoming habit. SO you've basically already done it. Very very well done.

Yep, saw that earlier and thought it looked great. It's easy to take something old, rare and interesting and make it look 'individual' because 99% of the hard work is already done (ie, it's already old, rare and interesting...) but taking something firmly in the 'white goods' category like that Starlet, a car utterly devoid of charm that I would normally have trouble picking out of a line-up, and actually making it look nice is a very tall order indeed. I absolutely LOVE the idea of turning body-coloured bumpers grey, it's a nice little nod to the not so distant past when low-spec cars could be easily spotted by their contrasting, unpainted plastic bumpers, and the fact that the first 'mod' most cars would receive once in the hands of a young owner would be a quick blow-over to colour code all the placca bits to disguise the cars humble origins. I'd have thought that doing the opposite and making a car look more mingebag than it actually is is something most 'shiters would approve of. Ditto turning it into a van, as everybody knows tiny hatchback-derived vans are some of the few modern cars that are guaranteed futureshite.

Correct. Just back from the pub, got there about 15 minutes before kick off and I cannot even believe how happy (and pissed) I am.

Finally got my snazzy aftermarket CD player fitted to the Merc as the standard 6 disc changer was knackered and the head unit was a radio cassette. Lobbed a CD in, second track was Felix and 'Don't you want me' so I turned it up full whack and noise polluted the 'hood*. Happy days indeed.

Enjoyed a very pleasant stag weekend in Derbyshire this weekend. Thought it might be clichéd and rather painful but it was really good fun. I even drank. Only downside was that bloody football game! Became a battle to find a pub that WASN'T showing it. We managed it though!
