Agency just rang to say my work are going to offer me a full time position. As far as I know it's the same thing on the same wage, but more importantly it's security without the lingering spectre of being told not to come in tomorrow.

More importantly, I may actually get a parking space

Brillaint News NC, I hope maybe my agency/work will do the same soon, I heard about some 12-week rule where agency worers must be given the same level of pay and rights as those on full-time contracts after 12 weeks. I suspect they may say 'see ya' after those 12 weeks and then suddenly re-hire after a couple of more weeks

Parking space thing - Is this one of those companys who wont let temp workers park within the grounds? I had this when I worked at Warburtons in Wednesbury. Took me 5 mins to go all way around the carpark just to get to the door :| Wankers

Thanks all. There is something to be said for keeping your head down and not complaining (well, not complaining at work anyway). Goes back to my post in the grump threa where I admit my heart's never been in it and I've never worked to my full potential

Maybe I should have lobbed a bid on that Maestro that ended at £280 yesterday......

Congrats NC. Bizarrely, the job market seems even more active than it was at the end of 2011. I've even had a few interviews- including one coming up in Norway...I am almost optimistic that I'll soon stop being unempl...erm, "independent means".

They have just built a new hospital near us and of course they have totally cocked up the parking.

The staff don't even have enough space, hence this video appeared which made me chuckle:

Hitler's rant about Pembury Hospital parking

Some of the comments are a laugh as well.

I find this video offensive in the extreme. HOW DARE some one compare hitler to the NHS. Hitler was organised AND had russia to park in :P

Bought a van advertised as "40k miles". Didn't go and look at it, bought it cos it was SUPERSAVER CHEAP. Got a bloke to pick it up, pay the seller and deliver it

I've not even looked at the clocks - We were too busy trying to push it uphill on deep gravel into it's final resting place, but my mate has just found the MOT in with the V5 and sent me this:

The DAF had its MOT today. Failed as expected but on sod all. Couple of tyres dodgy indicator and the rubber seal round the fuel filler lid. Result. Will get that sorted pretty quickly.

Did enjoy seeing the car parked outside the office though.

I don't normally wear a suit jacket to work but made sure there was one hung up in the back window today :D

Excellent news and a good start for the year.

It may not be the perfect job, but it is nice to sleep at night.

And it is the classiest car in that picture...

That's a great picture. Plus I bet it gets more look and positive attention than everything else in the car park put together

And I thought the swap I was offered for 'a tree house' was strange.

As with Negative Creep, I start a new job next month down south on the best pay I've had so far working on console games, I've had a crap time jobwise through the 'recession', been living on peanuts for a couple of years.

Looking forward to it as it's a completely new start.

He's not showing any pics of the beagle. It has probably escaped from a laboratory and is addicted to nicotine. It will always be sneaking round the back of the garage to light up dog-ends it has picked up on it's walks.

Is there Beagle scene tax?

To an extent but its the spare parts that are a nightmare to get hold of...

watching "The Garage" on Quest now, the narrator just said the supercar they were looking at was a 'Panini Zonta' I'm not familiar with that one, it sounds like a sandwich to me.
