Hey Trigg, if you've any 1980s editions of CAR that you're offloading, I'd gladly take them and would pay a little cash too! Also, any news on the car you went to see?

 

Sadly i sold all my CAR magazines to Spottedlaurel last year, along with my What Car? magazines, As for the other car, decided against it in the end, like i said in the other thread it was a 1976 Capri 3.0 Ghia auto but I decided it wasn't for me, even though it did sound mega cheap at £1695ono, I'm still kicking myself for not going to see it but I didn't have enough time yesterday with working nights and the seller had someone else who wanted to go and see it.

 

In other news I've just scanned this from a issue of Hot Car magazine from 1974, I thought a few of you might like it.

My boss.

 

Three weeks ago one of his beloved Kettle series powered Rover 416 Tourers started to run a bit rough. He's working his way through it, doing HT leads, dizzy and whatnot, came out with this gem this afternoon.

 

"I mean for goodness sake, it's not paid for itself yet! People think I'm mad when I phone looking for bits, but it's only done two hundred and thirty-odd thousand miles and I'm determined the bugger isn't going to give up on me!"

 

Rather alarmingly work still progresses on this, "in the hope I can work out what's going wrong with this one, 'cos the other one's sitting on 218k and I'd prefer not to be mucking about with it as well".

 

 

Madness. I think he deserves some sort of Autoshite trophy but he's not computer minded...
