royal flypast today, already had a fighter jet flyover!

We usually get them overhead at work on their way back but all we got was one mixed fighter wing and a pair of corporate-style jets. Still sounded awesome tho.

I got trained up today at work to drive one of the new container cranes for the new terminal that's just opened yesterday at Felixstowe...

No chance you know my old mate Ray Rigg? I believe he rocks a similar gig to you.

It's not a name i recognise Chris.

Ginger bloke. Used to flog BMWs. Not to worry. I went to London once, didn't meet Russel Brand.

The owner of this Renault 30 made me grin yesterday, I got chatting to him after he said he saw my photos of it a while back on flickr after i saw it at Crawley services after last years NEC Classic motor show.

He's had this since 1986 and so far has clocked up an amazing 311000 miles, on a Renault Automatic gearbox!, Quite a feat, He was showing me the photos of it in January's (i think) issue of Classic and Sportcar where it had a photoshoot for the magazine, He also owns a Renault 20!.

Agreed. Otherwise it's perfect. I was surprised how well it came out in the C&SC test, iirc it came out on top in the end.

Seeing Pandamonium's Lada Riva travelling down the A127 earlier made me grin. Also, last night in the heavy rain I spotted a scened-up VW Type 2 coming towards me with one broken windscreen wiper that was wiping the front panel

We need more of this.

They are legends. In 97, some of us went over for the TT. After much drinking, we were walking home in a stumbly fashion and the local fuzz pulled up in a panda car..... and gave us a lift home!! :-)

That Escort is class, hopefully it'll be put back on the road as it is or just with a respray in the same colour and no daft wheels or whatever.

I can well imagine. Mr B to his credit is a fine purveyor of used tat.

My 825 books at £130 in Glasses Guide, with average miles, and on a '99 T!

So mine, a '97 R, with 56k, must be, what, er, £130? Makes a £170 cambelt kit look like a hell of an investment.

Tayne is back!

Posted

Hi Tayne!

Taking my mate and her sister to the pub earlier on (just giving them a lift)

Mate (waving at a pedestrian)

Mate's sister :"Who you waving at?"

Mate : "That's Freddie!"

Mate's sister "Freddie who?"

Mate:"Freddie B****"

Mate's sister: "Freddie B**** is dead. Has been for about two years"

Mate : "in that case, by fuck he's looking well!"

Here's an Autoshite Top Tip: beware when taking already slightly tipsy women to the pub. They are unpredictable. Both insisted on leaning in the driver's window to give me a kiss, and I ended up with lipstick in my hair, all over my face and on my glasses. 2 hours later they are home. Snoring, I'm told.
