Is B&O still as good as they were ?

If you read reviews of old, B&O were never really THAT good. Not to the people who could afford it. Top of the tree is, and always will be, Linn. B&O only sounded as good as they did to us mere mortals 'cos their stuff was so much better than the likes of the stuff ordinary Joe could afford - like a half decent JVC, Bush, Phillips or Kenwood.

That said, I'm thoroughly enjoying the experience of a proper amp that can drive my headphones way harder than anything else I've got.

Ooh yea ! Sennheiser. Niiiiice !

Yeah. I got them about 10 years ago from the old play.com for £275. BARGAIN. RRP at the time was £319. RRP is now £400.

this made me happy today

the box I already had but over 5 kilos of British made (Dormer) UNF and UNC taps for £30

Fuck yeah

Now I just need to catalogue them and work out if I will ever use some of the sizes

I only wanted a set of 5/8 11tpi and now have a dozen of them plus loads of others

This.

A mate has a setup with three Linn amps in it, one for each speaker and the sub. Sounds amazing.

Went to a shed clear out yesterday. Picked up 2 unused boxes of drill bits, all good quality, huge amount of bits, plus cone drill bits, tap and die sets in metric and imperial flavours plus some other odds and sods. Was being given them free but couldn't do that. They happily accepted £30.

Monumental Billy Bargain  and it will be put to good use. Funny thing was that I was going to buy a tap and die set just a couple of days ago. Glad I forgot about it.

Was this a jumble/tat find or on t'internet fella? I have no chance over here - keep looking but haven't found a sausage....... postage from UK would probably be crippling though!

Passed my auto driving test today, yes auto only, but only 2minors, properly happy :D and enjoyed driving my K11 today :D

Instant 'Jag driver' status required ;-)

ebay, collushun only

I persuaded the seller to add a courier to the auction. They chose Hermes :(

Amazingly

1. I was the only bidder

2. my hermes managed not to make a complete fuck up of the delivery

Just seen a beige Toyota Land cruiser with a large camper conversion on the back

Following on from my post in the grump thread yesterday, plans have changed and I'm no longer planning to evacuate from NE Florida. Irma's predicted path i ys now further west. This is the first grin albeit non car related. There's still a mandatory evacuation starting tomorrow but they won't physically make you leave. I live on a barrier island and the police are expecting to close the bridges when the wind gets strong enough

Spent the day putting up the hurricane shutters (not grin worthy)and clearing space in the garage for the convertible and getting my generator running. The carb was all clogged up with crap but soon cleaned it out. These last two are why this is grin.

Feels a bit like a prison inside the house and the hurricane doesn't get here till Sunday night/Monday morning.

How old was it? its unusual to ship cruisers out of Australia as the are usually driven into oblivion.

I was holidaying in Florida in 99 when Floyd came through

Quite unnerving to see all the trailer park residents being evacuated from everywhere, and seeing the interstates rammed with pickups trucks...

Off on a roadtrip in the Bx 17rd to collect a bonnet and other bits. 62bhp of finest citroen diesel and a missing air intake pipe so it sounds like the exhaust is falling off, wish me luck!

It's a mate's birthday today, we're all meeting up in the pub later on.

Me & my housemate Hannah were wondering what to buy a middle-aged single bloke that looks a bit like Shrek.

Answer: 50 pairs of socks and a ball gag.

Hard to say. It was the J70 shape, don't they still make them over there? It looked like holidaymakers rather than an import. Bit of a trek!
