Luther is back and he's still rolling in a Volvo 740 with differentially coloured front wing :-D

Also, one of the other coppers is driving a 51 plate Hyundai Sonata

Had to fill the 806 up earlier today when it got down to a 1/4 of a tank and had done 525 miles so I was a bit worried the gauge might be wrong. It took £66 and worked out at 38 to the gallon which I think is bloody good for a great big 8 seater with the best part of 240k on the clock. I think this one will have to stay. Anyone want a 206 estate 2.0 hdi on a 54 plate. Bit scruffy and a cat c £600 anyone ?

I do get worried every time I leap over a crest. Not that I do it very often. Really...

I rarely watch telly these days, but the missus put this on and I stuck with it for the shite content, and the fact Patrick Malahide was in it playing a South London crook with a Series 3 XJ6.

One of the lads on the mx5 forum is an RAC patrolman and had some friends and family codes available so I've just signed up for a years cover for the princely sum of £sod all :) what a nice thing to do

earlier on I found a random fiver in my coat pocket so took the Audi to one of those conveyor belt type car washes - quite an odd experience, the car moving along through the different sections and steering itself. nice and clean now so I'm happy

On the day my leg started playing up again I got an NHS headed letter asking me to phone up for a physio appointment. Can't beat service like that! ;)

I filled in a self referral form after seeing the orthopaedic consultant back in Oct, and having read the "how we deal with this form" section wasn't hopeful of a reply anytime soon (I'd been honest about being under consultant care, not being in much discomfort and mainly seeking advice about how to manage my prescribed rest period).

So if any of you are struggling with back pain or whatever, it might be worth investigating if your trust has a self referral system. I had no idea until I was first injured last year, in that case the wait was about 3 weeks. Up here they prioritise cases based on how you describe the pain, how it impacts on your work&home life, so make sure you give as much detail as possible.

chocolate tools by Jean-Pierre Declemy, on Flickr

You don't need to go to Switzerland for chocolate tools, full range available in Blighty, sold under the Draper brand.

I bet that stilson would still shear the head off any fastener on a Vauxhall.

I just realised I made it through this year without seeing one second of the X Factor. Ace, I didn't even realise it was on actually, which suggests remote controller Mrs G is coming round to the idea that everything on ITV is total and utter drivel.

I thought Luther had finished. What with the sidekick dying, Luther getting with Alice etc.

Sadly it's only a 2 part special. I also thought it was as over as over could be, Luther headed off to the wrong side of the law to live happily ever after with Alice the Duck-Faced Psycho, but maybe the BBC realised they'd killed off one of the few shows they had that was actually any good,

Nelson Mandella's back and this time etc.
