Not done much car stuff lately, so yesterday evening I had the idea of moving the Daimler to my other lockup and bringing the Metro home so I can sort a few jobs on it. But the old heap wouldn't start, so I put the battery on charge overnight and then broke out these this evening

Sorted! She settled down to her usual lumpy idle, and after a grin inducing short drive I did the swap.

I wasn't sure it would fit, but measured the lockup the other day and it's 5m long which is handy as I can now keep the Metro at home and get some use out of it - of all my shite it has the best heater, GR9 for when it gets properly cold.

BL chod polar opposites...

Didn't Stuart "Adam Ant" Goddard chuck an alternator through a pub window years ago? Can't remember if it was working or borked...

When I had a XJ6 SII it only fitted in the garage because the tail pipes and overiders neatly fitted between inner frame of the metal garage door, that tight!

^That's what I was hoping for when I first bought it, but in both garages it sits clear of the doors, albeit by an inch or so. The only bugger when it's at home is I can't access anything on the shelves on the back wall of the garage, 'cos full of Jag. Need to rethink my storage situation, or just get rid of stuff!

Turns out the front left wheel was quite warm after a drive. The insurance is up in a week or two anyway so it'll be getting laid up for a while and sorted.

Live scenes.

Oh how I love winter. It's bitter bite gnawing at my fingers.

I travelled back in time to 1979 to show my daughter the Dolomite for the first time tonight, she said she approves.

Fit. Does more for me than any XJ40/X300.

One night without warning or cause a Triumph Herald front hub assembly jumped from a high shelf and dented the roof of mine! Major job - screens out, repair roof, new vinyl roof on insurance. It was a beautiful car that I owned for 9 years.

That bears a lot of similarity to the last E type Jaguar built, which is/was in the Jaguar Heritage collection. Even has a similar plate!

I wonder if that's pure coincidence or if they were linked? I'm guessing both were sort of replaced by the XJ-S but not sure when the XJ Coupe production ended.

What's happened to the bonnet on that xj coupe?

I recently threw a torque converter at a Volvo 440.

I've been offered a scruffy Peugeot 306 I sold back,

It needs an alternator, coil pack and at a push, a gearbox.

Being a 1.4 pez, is it worth the hassle?

My XJC was one of the earliest, I think about no.60 from the chassis number if I remember correctly.

The bonnet was perfect from memory I think it must be light reflection.

Got the Frontera in for a new tow bar fitting after it was damaged a few weeks ago.

They have given us this as a courtesy car

While not that bad inside it's a gutless piece of shit being only an 1100. It's only done about 900 miles but it's got a really high clutch and struggles to move in any gear even when thrashed.

Bini's had its washer bottle sensor replaced.

While I was waiting I spilled coffee over myself...

Finally found the intermittent wiper setting hidden away, you press the end of the wiper stalk (why?).

It's actually quite an handsome car in the right light.
