Looks just about right like that too.  Nice to see it on those alloys instead of the usual lattices they all appear to end up on.

That black Sierra looks absolutely BOSS.

I've just worked out the economy of the Vectra and I think it's doing an average of 48mpg.

Dunno if its been covered yet or not but a review of shitefest appears in the latest Practical Classics. It landed on my door mat this morning. It's in the news section, there's even a pic of a certain scruffy 504 estate!!! Hats off to Mr wobbler etc

I Hope you get on better with gaz springs than i did.

Its lucky then that I didn't buy the Gaz springs then! These ones are rallydesign one's which come highly recommend on the buysellcortina forum, they were also a fair bit cheaper than the ones Burton Performance were selling. I'll get them fitted in the next few weeks hopefully.

Today I had my old man round to help me change the clutch on the Civic, what a friggin mare, the clutch change wasn't too bad but working with my old man is a major ballache, all he does is consistently swear and shout!

At this point he was turning the air blue as the bottom ball joint won't pop out... anyway thankfully we managed to get the box out in the end without to much hassle and the clutch was knackered.

Worn down to the rivets, my new £40 clutch was spot on tot which was a major relief!

Got it all back together again, new gearbox oil and coolant, polished all the front up too whilst the grill was off.

I then celebrated with a quick drive, it's miles better now, totally different to drive with a nice light pedal and slick gear change, result! £40 well spent!

Now to put a advert for it on eBay.

Glad to hear the clutch change went ok. That inner wing and scuttle metalwork looks mint!

Must be mixed feelings as now the clutch/ gearshift is better than ever, your moving it on.

An actual "Steppy" or stepthrough. Well played. In my young day, all my mates called Honda 90s stepthroughs.

Honda c90's are actually step throughs. I own one as my daily.

I can get a bit shouty/sweary with jobs, it's compounded by the fact that my Dad has the knack of coming out to see what I'm doing and tapping a stubborn part just so and making all the effort I've expended look like a complete waste of time.  He does the same thing with jam jars.

We started the job at 10am and finished at 4pm. He only he stopped shouting was when we had lunch! It wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't have a banging headache!

Brookjm - Yeah I'm not bothered if it doesn't sell very quickly but it seems a shame it being sat outside under a tarp in the bad weather plus I plan on sell that and the Acclaim and buying something a bit more fun, like a Sierra... Mrs T isn't very impressed though!

At a vintage do this weekend. Chap turned up with a old petrol powered road roller sporting a pukka 1936 tax disc. Love it

Dad and co were having a knees up tonight.  I was the responsible adult because weirdly I didn't want to drink and I had work to do.  That meant I got to drive Dad's Lexus.  I had forgotten just how ridiculously powerful and big the LS400s are compared to my usual chod, jumping out of a 1.9 TD and getting into a 4ltr V8 petrol was intimidating.  Everything was really nice as a brief driving experience apart from the door mirrors which should be panoramic auto-dim deelies but a previous owner has siliconed the WORST mirrors known to man over the top of them, and I know a thing or two about useless ornamental mirrors.

I can obviously recommend a Cavalier, will be cheaper than a Sierra too. I'm tempted by the Acclaim after driving it at Shitefest, was surprised how peppy and comfortable it was. Gold FTW!

I wouldn't argue with that, a nice 2.0 SRi or Diplomat would be high on my want list.

What do you need mirrors for, when you have a V8?
