All this Honda Jazz talk...

I've just delivered a Jazz to my favourite place, Farnham from Hull. Last week I had one from Lowestoft to Bolton. They're not bad but you do get treated like a second class citizen. Not tried the magic rear seat thingy. Too late as I've just delivered and all that Jazz...

Here's my workbench coming home 205 style

205's are ace for that sort of thing - My old 954cc XE transported all my shite from Queens Park in NW London to central Scotland when I moved out my flat, then did the same again from Scotland to North Dublin when I moved to the new gaff.

My daughter has a honda jazz. The door lock have ballsed up and she can't get a key into the drivers or passengers side. She rang honda who wanted £95.00 to put it onto the diagnostic machine. Told her to take it to my local fella who told her to get a new lock from honda and he will fit it. In other news my lad is going to be getting a new car so his peugot 406 3.0 v6 may be up for sale and I shall be inheriting his ex bob the beard honda prelude for free. Just have to try and get some classic insurance type of thing for it.

Well, the honeymoon (Goonamoon?) had to end some time!

Would benefit from some ointment.

Here's why:

Another snapped spring!

Mr_Bo11ox already had to change the rears.  Last night the front offside snapped.  I didn't realise at first (despite hearing a couple of untoward clonks) and by the time I'd driven the six miles to work, the tyre looked like this:

023233E0-2859-4EC1-B8A1-47AEBDD0192A_zps

Now deposited outside my local garage (where I'm roundly taken the piss out of these days) as there is zero chance of me getting involved in changing springs right now.

Still, first ftp in over six months; Not bad for a £4.50 car.

That happens on pretty much everything modern - especially German badged machines too! Is the tyre past it?

Gonna be brave and get both front springs done together?

I remember being in Glossop with Cleon-Fonte waiting for other folks at one of the Northern Powerhouse meets, when a bloke parked a (2009ish?) Jazz up, got out, locked the boot, and walked off. Common problem?

Povvo spec 1.2 then, SE models have remote locking, no hole/key lock in passenger door or tailgate.

Land Rover in ftp shocker !

Started spluttering and being a twat on my way to work then conked out on a dangerous bend naturally .

I thought the fuel pump sounded noisy this morning . Someone came up with a gallon and away she went . Showing half a tank on the gauge and gauge was all checked as part of the refurb . I reckon the filter sock / stack pipe has come off the pump or pipe split . Arses

ZX has MOT! The expected little bit of welding to the passenger side floor and all is well. Which is good. A local chap is having it, and he was paying me to MOT it. Glad neither of us is facing a big bill! Amazed at how quickly the ZX sold. Pleased too, as I need its insurance slot.

I shall get more details when I see him. It's not a bad car. Got the leather interior and armrests so I think it's the too speck. It's got a couple of months mot and around 160,000 . He says it runs great but it does have a few clunks and rattles.

Unseen naturally... I did make a proviso in my offer that I want to have a test drive before I buy, so I know its not going to try and kill me when I pick it up.

Possibly not AutoShite material though??

Should fit in your pocket to save parking.

They're okay once you're in them it's getting in and out that I found to be the problem,

Which is why I thought I'd better get one before I get too old/we have kids at some point soon!

Not sure how interesting it trying to get in Mrs SiC when she gets pregnant...

So, anybody want to hazard a guess why I've ended up having to miss a work meeting today because of this?

There is a hint in that picture ...

Decided I needed to top up the oil in preparation for an upcoming long journey...

And promptly lost the oil cap in a place that I couldn't get my hand ...

Obviously this is all the fault of the car, and not the twonk who dropped it.

I did an oil and filter change on the MGF this afternoon.

It was looking to be one of those rare "perfect changes" with zero spillage right up until I kicked the drain tray and slopped a litre or so over the garage floor.

Anyone who has ever topped up the oil in an F will know what a farce it is......basically there is a filler point in the boot but it is also the dipstick tube, so it takes bloody ages for the oil to go down it.

With the wee grill in the boot off, its just possible to reach your arm in and get to the proper filler cap on the rocker cover so 5 minues work and some plumbing parts gave me this....

Which means you can fill up through the proper orifice, which is tons better. Ideally it should be even bigger diameter pipe, but thats all I had in stock so thats what I used.

My grandad sadly died today, he was 89.

In a strange ying-yang day, I also found out I finally got a garage from the housing association waiting list - its a few miles away, but will mean i can give the Mondy the weather protection it 'deserves' for £40 a month. I'd been waiting 3 years.

Here's a pic of my grandad in his pomp, he thought he was Errol Flynn or something. I know you folk will appreciate the style!

In my lifetime he had a Dolly, Mk2 Cav, Mk2 Sierra (in hearing aid beige) and finally a 306 sedan XUD. A proper shitter really!

I don't have stuck brakes on the Renault now.  Removed the front pads and the rear drum that was stuck freed off and the Renault tried to escape.  We needed to make space for a visitor.

Damn, Vulgs, that Rover is very nice indeed. I get a strong '90s flashback every time I see a photo of it.

That exhaust tailpipe though......Im not saying go Full Barry with a cherrybomb or anything, but maybe just lop the downturned pipe off the end of the silencer and weld on a stainless or chrome section.
