Permission to say told you so trig ? 😃

I usually use a tube to pop em up then take it out. Those narrow little tyres can be more grief then big lo pros sometime. Glad you got them done .

Permission granted! They did try the tube trick but that didn't work either.

I can't compete with the milf hunter above but just got back from having my Civics tyres changed.

Going back to 2smokes comment the garage had a few issues as they had been crushed, presumably under piles of other tyres in storage, they couldn't get the bead to seal so ended up ramming seat covers in them, pumping them up which helps seal them them then letting the air out and removing the covers again.

They only charged me £30 cash so all in all the full set has cost me £145 which is cheap enough, the car feels nicer and more quiet on the road now too. Result!

This seems to be a general mail order tyres problem. The last few sets I have bought have come wrapped like that and have been a nightmare to get inflated. After a timid first few attempts, I am now a master of the "spray in some brake cleaner and ignite it" method, which works a treat, but doesnt do much for your nerves.

You should have tried it on 11.225 Goodyear truck tyres in the eighties. The top of the pile were bad enough, but the bottoms were absolute bastards. Luckily I had the best sealing ring in the depot which I used to hide away when I wasn't using it.

Anyhow, as you're all dying to know....the PickArsehole actually drives surprisingly well. I came home down my favourite rally route down the lanes, and once I'd remembered I wasn't in the Sirion it was great. No nasty clonks or rattles and everything seems to work ok.

Oh yes, I remember the scum in this one, watching them throw all their shit on the ground under the car and the crap all over the dash inside it.

Pint of beer on the dashboard too, an actual pint in a glass. The front quarter light was the most smeared window I've ever seen in my life, you could feel the stickiness just walking past.

In my experience it's just as important to inspect the owner when buying a car (one of the reasons I like to buy privately)

I begin to wonder if the reason I find those Picassos so utterly unappealing now is purely down to the sorts of people usually seen piloting them and scutting the place up.  I really quite liked them when they first came out.

My citroen mechanic has just bought one as an everyday car to replace the xantia estate - I think the turbo ate itself. He also has a 2CV AK, SM, and several traction avants.

Just listed the XM on eBay, it needs to go! I want to pay my mate off for the ZX and buy a new wing!

Very pleased to find a code (on a Honda forum, randomly) which when applied to my CarParts4Less basket, gave me £15 off my £115 bill - 3 litres of oil, oil and air filters and a set of Pagid brake discs and pads for a modern Hyundai is a bargain for £100 in my book.  The code is CP15LESS and gives you £15 off a £100 bill but there's a load of others here too:

Christ-on-a-bike, that's brilliant, Jon. What's the script with it, ex-local authority or something? I'd certainly do it up the council, that's for sure.

They used to have one at local fire station exactly the same as that. This van wasn't ment for me that's for sure as both sellers never replied to me.

How bad is the welding mentioned by the first seller?

I friend of mine has a T reg toyota corolla which she has driven from new. It's on 187000 miles and she has just had a service and the cam belt changed. The previous belt change milage was 64000.

This is how you get value out of a new car, not chopping it in every 3 years. I'll knock up a picture if I see her next week.

Isn't that the £15 Volvo?

Just put Barry Shitpeas down as the previous keeper.

Phoned Doovla. Spoke to a nice lady who was very helpful. Turns out Barry had sent off the V5C stating he acquired it on May 28th and sold it to me on May 7th...

You may remember I posted a pal's Voxhall Monaro on here. Well, the chap is a confirmed Vauxhall nut, and his just got himself this. 1983 1600S, 1 previous owner, 30 odd K miles. Aside from the missing alloy centrecap, it is pretty much as perfect as it looks in the (crappy phone) pics.
