The scores on the doors on arrival in the centre of Norwich.

Proper impressed - it's a brilliant motorway car, and seems to pull better than my last TDCi. Good stereo too. It's going to be taking over daily duties from the Hyundai for the foreseeable. I've dumped it at work for now to take the Toyota home - looks like it's going to be a nice evening so I'll probably cycle back to Norwich this evening to pick it up.

So gutted I couldn't bring it home. A lovely place to sit and as you say goes easy on the diesel.

Hats off to Smellypoo for offering it up on here.

After some work on the Kallista this morning the new gear cables arrived for the 207. Peugeot stealers wanted £140 + vat and cheapest in U.K. was £138. Got a set of genuine PSA from Germany off fleebay for 120 Euro delivered, how can they be cheaper from there?

As you can see an air gap had formed within the cable assembly. On stripping the console I found 15p, disappointed as I was expecting the full 20p underneath the handbrake!

Spent some quality time with Mrs foad swapping a strut over on the c15 after the spring broke.

We also fitted the rear shocks to the 190e and messed about trying to get the Carlton running.

At the moment she's trying to remove the bastarding heater motor on the spare c15.

I should buy my dad's D5. He's about to give it away in a part ex deal for an XC70 and could be mine for £800.

He had the dmf and clutch replaced last year, is MOTed to November and has new tyre.

Only problem is I don't need it.

There are a couple of noises bothering him so doesn't want to sell it privately (a front suspension type knock and road speed related noise that goes away after 5 miles)

Sorry I don't understand what relevance this has with buying or not buying a car!

I know, but I have half a dozen I don't need already. I don't need another daily and it's not interesting enough to take up storage space.

Still want it though.

I was sat behind a 2010s Quattroporte on the M25 earlier.  Not quite as impressive as a '70s version, but it did sound quite nice when he gave it the beans.

Tonight I have learned that whilst the Mondeo goes very well when given full welly, and is definitely quicker (once it's past a momentary initial lag) than my last 130bhp TDCi, it's still not quite fast enough in a straight line to shake off a tailgating Chrysler 300C taxi.  Every day is a school day.

Did your lady manage the removal OK? It's only three screws but the trouble is rotating and jiggling the bugger to get it down.

You might remember my late grandad left behind a 52000 mile 306 xud sedan. Well it's going to find a home with one of my cousins who lives in France and works as a carpenter. He's coming over for the funeral and will be exporting it then!

Have a couple of 'garage find' pics before it crosses the water. Rare old thing now. It's in good nick apart from a giffer scrape on the offside wing. It's actually done 56,000 - but only 6,000 in last 10 years. Don't want to start it - can leave my cousin to deal with the stale fuel!

My 204 had the diesel in it from when it was laid up in 1994. It ran on it but it stank and might of contributed to the fuel pump packing in shortly after. The previous owner had left it with a full tank so at least it stopped the tank rotting out and the fuel gauge packing up.

There's a red 306 sedan on ebay for £200 - and it looks utterly fugging brilliant.

Such french.  Many retro. So economies.  Wow.

my cousin aims to drive it down to Cornwall first for family visits, and then get the Plymouth - Roscoff ferry and drive it back to southern Brittany. I wish him well!

I appear to have turned into the people we love to hate. Realised I hadn't checked the oil for a while on my focus. Bit low, topped up. Then, thinking about it, I haven't changed the oil in a while. Err, hang on, since I had the cambelt changed. Four years ago. Oops.

The in laws have upgraded their shit Sky internet with a BT one but are struggling to work out how to set it all up so this afternoon we went over to take a look, once this was up and running i had time to check in on the Dolomite which i haven't even seen since the start of December.

The battery was unsurprisingly flat so i jumped it off my Focus, that was a bit daft as it's got the lights which turn on when you open the door, after i started the Dolly (which took a few turns to get the fuel up) i parked the Focus back up and locked it only to see the lights still on... Shit i think, I've bollocked up one of the modules and it will cost me a fortune.

After 20 minutes Googling, messing about with the key and swearing i finally notice that the boot wasn't closed probably... What a wally! Still i took the Dolly for a drive for a hour where it still drives lovely! Roll on the summer!

^ Wot Dan said. Haven't seen the Dolomite in a while and it still looks gorgeous. I'm off to Flickr now to perve over the grey cloth seats.
