Got offered this


Been standing here 16 years,why not???I had some spare wheels so swapped them



All the brakes were free the handbrake works fine.Checked the oil and water ,cleaned the dissy cap ,stuck a battery on and tried it and its turning over.poured some petrol down the carb and after 20 secs it only fires up and sounds great,so i drove it home.It does have some issues though



the sills need welding and the bulkhead has quite a bit of rot,pics tomorrow

That's excellent! Quick wash and wax, maybe a bit of cleaning around those front hubs and it should be a fun thing

 

If it turns out to be too far gone, remember the rear suspension set up is the four torsion bar arrangement shared with the R5 GT Turbo and might be worth a few quid to someone building/rebuilding one of those.

 

That windscreen surround looks like a pain to fix, I see a few R5's on the bay with similar issues

Seriously though top job. This should be a sweet wee van. I'm wondering if we should all go put away a Berlingo or kangoo while they are still common....

Great! What a freebie! I had a majorette diecast of these as a kid with nifty opening rear doors. So far at least it isn't fighting you and seems to want saving!

I've seen a few of these with the R5 front end fitted, but never the other way round. I think that would look FAB on a late model 5 Campus, especially if you removed a few of its luxury features.
