Bloody lovely that is. Just think, next weekend you'll be able to go out for a drive in it since it'll have an MOT by then!

It's bloody fantastic Trigster, I honestly can't see the colour mismatch in the pics.

Next time someone at work asks me to define a winner, I'm going to say "Triggers 1984 Ital van"

Posted

That's fantastic, Triggleswade, top work.

Just a shame the colour match isn't 100% but considering its aerosol cans i bought of the internet i shouldn't complain

All part of the charm Trig, looks great.

Agreed.  If it was too good, you'd have people telling you that you'd ruined it.  Ask me how I know.

Good luck with the MOT.  I'm sure you'll be grand.

Shiny!  Love it, and proper impressed by how quickly you've got it sorted, especially given the sprog situation.  Mrs Trig must be a saint!

Mrs Trig must be a saint!

She very much is but in my defence with me in the garage it was easier to look after 2 children than 3...

Very very impressed Trigger.  Great work!

I love car derived vans and that is effing brilliant Mr Trig.

I'll have to make sure I don't park next to it. It makes mine look like it's waiting for a lift to a cube producer.

Between throwing up from children poohing their nappies

i still desperately want to find a set of nut covers

That horse, my friend, has bolted.

When I showed this to a mate at the beginning, he couldn't understand why you would get rid of the "other car" (Dolomite, he has no idea about cars) for what he saw as a tatty old shit box he wouldn't take away if you paid him and certainly wouldn't ever be seen driving.

I showed him your progress today and asked him again, what he thought.

He was positively shocked and didn't believe it was the same van.

I assured him it was and showed him the during pics.

He may be a philistine but he now accepts it is very nice and would definitely like to own such a thing.

I am also very impressed at the speed and motivation of the project and the end result.

Good work sir.

That's a very kind thing to say, to be honest much of the motivation has come from this thread, peoples responses to it, good and bad (mostly what your mate said!) have just spured me to get on with it and prove what can be done with a bit of enthusiasm!

I've got it insured today, RH was able to add it to my Rovers policy for £120 which was helpful so it's now all ready for Wednesday.

Well done! I love reading your threads on your personal restorations. It's like watching the first series of Wheeler Dealers, it's not perfection but just shows you how well you can improve a car with a lot of patience and hard work.

Brilliant work !

I wouldn't worry too much about the colour match, I reckon you could convince even the most pedantic rivet counter that the paint is 100% original...

I've been a silent reader until now, but feel obilged to say how much I've enjoyed this thread. Good luck with the MOT.

On my mate Dave's account I feel I should register an intetrest if you ever choose to sell it. It would be a real asset to the boatyard and its in the correct company colour!

Cheers Joe.

Congrats Trig! Richly deserved that is, and no advisories!

Well done, it looks great too outside.

Winner! That looks ace. And makes me feel a bit like I really need to go out and do the few bits of jobs on my van that I keep putting off.
