🚨L1's 🇫🇷 shenanigans. EV eats tyres in under a year!

...bit of salt.

Anyway, I took this lion thing on cause it seemed like a helpless case after swallowing a screw with @PrinceRupert back in 2021.  I figured that the highly esteemed @Jimbob McGregor has a turbo diesel setup from the ex @wuvvum Mardis Gras which would make a fine weapon.

Anyway, looking a bit like that might not happen yet.

Works as long as there's some gravity feeding on the fuel.  Getting a new pump in shortly..

Vacuum operated - should work fine with the engine running.

Mirror replaced.

I think the drivers seat has a bolt not properly home which the seat catches on.  I can't reach the pedals because short arse and the bolt is inaccessible.

Looking good. Must have a booster seat kicking about no?

Oddly enough, I never had the seat problem 😂

Goose says hi.

Christ almighty this seat is a bodge.

One bolt too small, not rated, into a plate on unknown metal bolted to the floor.

Two correct, finger tight.

Two oversized hence blocking the seat.  Heads inaccessible because the seat bolts to the rails are in the way, and can't be moved because the spot welds have been ground off.

FFS 😂

Duster did a couple of thousand miles round France, passing 51k on the way home.    It's grand.

Kwikfit are near to mrs_l1s work, but they refused to fix the puncture and declared the front tyres unsafe.  Quoted £550 for three tyres.

These are the fronts, at 2mm.  The inner edges are a bit more worn.

The other rear is at 3mm, so have ordered a full set for £435 fitted from Halfords TOTD.  Eleven months and 19k

Not bad on mileage TBF, are you inflating them to more than suggested pressure? Seems odd to wear most in the middle.

Wear is on the inside edges.  They've been at 38 most of their lives but have realised they're more comfortable at 33

Been a long day, I did read inside edges but my eyes were looking at the middle of the tyres in the picture for some reason.

Yes.

Yes.

@Jimbob McGregor spotted her a few weeks back overtaking SIX cars in one (with a gap in the middle, but she was able to keep going).

twin motor in the zoe

sounds like the pressures killed the tyres

Could be right, that one was a teensy bit lower, it'd take a few minutes more to change pressure as the temps rise.

You need van tyres, 50k on my Vivaro's factory Continentals. I think they might be made of stone given the abysmal levels of grip and glacial wear rate.

Pfft, amateur. I've just replaced my two fronts at 42k.

Dad was telling me the other day he had 4 new tyres on his enyaq.

Back 2 were worn to the markers (he has the 4wd version), and the kwik fit guy condemned the 2 fronts for extreme feathering and authorised 4 new tyres.

He was very glad motability picked up that bill, £900+ 😱 cars done 21k on those tyres although in their defence the fenland roads he's put most of that 20k on are brutal

Stepdad seems to make a pair of fronts on his zoe last a year or so before picking up a puncture or twatting something so hard it fucks the very thin tyres and that's almost £400 fitted for a pair of mitchelin ev flavor tyres. Backs have been changed once although because of perishing not being worn

Ev's seem very hard on their tyres unless your just autopiloting up and down a straight road it seems 🤔

What the shit? I've just had another full set of the same Goodyear all seasons fitted for £435

IMG-20250911-WA0021.jpeg

Could have had Michelins for 560.

I've often thought he should try somewhere else not as local or other tyres but nope 🤷 He gets Michelins fitted too 😬

I've got £200 ensconced away for when I need a pair of fronts in the not too distant future and that's a shock for me coming from £50 fitted for a 15" tyre 😂

Doesn't get much more local than doing it in the side lane
