I don't think so, it's one Clio Stu at Renomotive bought as a breaker but turned out to be better than expected.  Last owner 14 years.

As @loserone says, it came from a pedigree hame.

the Dudley fleet are scattered to the 4 corners of the earth

I'm sure @320touring is on commission from Clio Stu!

Wasn't the first one I had (VUL) sourced from the Midlands somewhere?

Visibility has been an issue since I got the Clio.  It's shit.

Now slightly* better.

Best £75 I've spent in a while.

I did a shit job of pictures in the usual spot at Killhope Cross, and overtook a golf like it was standing still on the way home.

Three tanks down, I only did short sprints on the last one and still managed 30 mpg.

I got a new rubber grip for the steering wheel.  It was cheap thankfully as it felt like it was slightly degraded as I took it out of the packet.

Had it up on the lift and slightly concerned that if the car is airborne there's literally nothing stopping the rear springs from falling out as they're so short.  Ive ordered some OEM springs and am going to try to get new shocks to freshen the back up a bit.  @320touring points out that the back wheels are just to hold the bumper off the ground, but I figure whilst the bumper is off the ground it would be good if it could stay that high.

Otherwise I have found a screw in one of the good tyres

Plan is to get two new tyres for the back, that screw pulled and plugged, all four wheels balanced and the tracking done tomorrow morning.

Being airborne at 40 is a distinct possibility around here.

You don't have to go fast to get high.

Meanwhile the Clio got two new rainsports on the back, the screw removed and puncture fixed on the front, and a front wheel alignment yesterday.

Slight escapade as it's a 45 minute drive away, and once they had the old tyres off they realised they didn't have the new ones they'd ordered in.  At 930 on a Saturday.

Despite this they managed to get it all done and ready for pick up at 12 when they finished.  Or I assume they did, I got there an hour later to pick it up.

It rides a little better now but mostly it's improved by not tramlining everywhere.

The lights seemed to be yellow on one side and blue on the other.

I've pulled out both the sidelight bulbs and that seems to have been the difference.  Hopefully they will now dry out before I put new yellow bulbs back in both sides.

  • loserone changed the title to L1's Renault shenanigans - 182 shock 🫨

Genuine new rear shocks and OEM spec springs arrived last week, so tonight @Jimbob McGregor very kindly fitted them for me.

It's sitting a little higher but the ride is comparatively superb, I can't believe how much better it is to drive.  The old shocks were fucked.

Took it home via lying on the road for some four minute exposure shots.

Lying in the road is not advised where I live for any amount of time but you live in the country that God designed with the idea of buying shares in Kodak. His mother thought this investment was unwise and so it proved to be. 😑
