LOL at that Mini story:

The owner was introduced to the band, had a conversation with John Lennon who led him to the autoshop

In reality, this happened:'Scuse me, I couldnt help but notice that this is the Beetle Club? Yeh Ive been looking for a small car to buy, and I really wanted to try out the car youre advertising, seems a cool choice at the moment'Sadly they were out of stock it seems, pretty nice Mini though.

as Pog says, brakes are a doddle, even the clutch is a piece of pish on these....get it and give us your phone number, I'm sure many of us would talk you through it :D

Cheers fella! Awfully kind of you. I fully intend to utilise the collective autoshite knowledge when I finally get driving. Still got to replace my lost provvy license first, i'm such a lazy twunt, I should've been on this by now

Drums can be tricky because they take a certain nack and it's easy to forget and get out of pratice. Once you get use to 'em they're a piece of pish and are more reliable than a rear disc/caliper set-up.

"Cheap" Mini, with an incredible John Lennon related story!!!

1987 Vauxhall Astra 1.3 L "Capital"

Check out the frankly absurd dealer special stickers on this bad boy, it'd be great if you could get brand new Astras with wonky pinstripes and colourcoded trims.

I thought that Mk2 Astra was a "Capita" special edition.... you'd buy that and then have the urge to take over a call centre and balls it up, laying off most of the experienced staff to be replaced by agency workers before running it so far into the ground the original owners take you to court to get control back.[ /personal gripe ]

I am curious to see what this ends at, as it's already over £100, yet only has a month's test, need a fair bit for the test (a set of tyres for a start) is a lower spec model and is generally tatty. If it goes over £200 mine would easily be worth that, and it's what I paid for it, with a full test so it's great zero depreciation motoring!

I love that beige Cortina, whats the betting it ends up on the track?re: the Corsair, I think 'rat rod' is just a polite way of saying 'shit paint job'. Still love it though

Take one aging VW. Hit it with 'the stick' (whatever that is), randomly add stickers for surf shops, foreign oil companies, beach wear, "dubway" (ho ho ho etc), cartoon characters, vaginal lubricant and so on. Charge £££££s more than it's worth.

That Camaro.. I know where there's a 2.8 one of those things in Czech, it used to belong to some Czech porn starlet when it was new.It looks like it might just be saveable enough to drive to the UK.

I drove a 2.8 Firebird from NY to New Orleans last year, essentially the same car. Fuggin slow it was.
