Off to pick up a car from a local trader to deliver to my daughter. Trip entails a short train ride from Portsmouth to Swanwick to pick up the fine steed.

Compulsory station pic. It isn't all glamour this collection lark.

Had to put one star to put a review on here .... All I can say is dont buy of this con man ... He has now put the car I bought of him over three months ago that two independant garages have said unroadworthy up for sale again .... He wont learn untill he has killed someone...please stay well away from this garage and man!!!!!!!

Do Not Buy From this Man/ dealer as it will not be worth the hassle that follows.

i have had to take my car back to him 3 times over the same issue reoccurring oil leak since buying the car. the last time i took it back i was without my car for just under 5 weeks and the problem still isn't solved and during that time there was little information be passed down about what was happening with my car. i would not recommend buying from this man at all, and would stay well away regardless of what he is selling or the price.

Good luck.

MOT'd yesterday too, with no advisories! (admittedly it failed earlier the same day for a tyre pressure monitoring fault)

Nice one. 77k miles ain't bad either.

I have LITERALLY purchased petrol from that petrol station in the past.

well done with the collection.

Made it. No nasty noises or other unpleasant surprises. I like it.

What do I think of the Mini then?

Well, I really rather like it. For all the criticism of the Bini, it somehow manages to be bigger, more modern, more comfortable, quicker and better equipped than the original, but somehow still feels like I remember a proper Mini should - Skittish, nippy and generally like a grown-up go kart.

This particular one has had 4 owners and covered 77,000 miles since 2005, picking up a Cat D marker along the way and still feels "new". It seems to be well specced with options including cruise control. My only real criticism is the very high (or is it low?) gearing. 80mph in 5th is around 4000 revs so it's a bit of a screamer on the motorway. Everything seems to work and there are no nasty leaks or noises.

Definitely nailed-on futureshite!!

Binis are short geared, the R56 six speed auto is in 6th by motorway speeds. They're fun things, only issue is the steering is overassisted when not in sport mode IMO. They're great cars, well put together and really feel a cut above anything else in their class.

That is just so wrong. So much parking available and only one car. The owners should be force-ably re-homed into a 1 bed flat and the house given to somebody who would appreciate the automotive collection potential :-)

eddyramrod wins.

Lovely, but wins what, exactly?

What was the dealer like then?

He seemed fine, but I've only bought from him rather than relying on him to sort out a problem. He texted me this afternoon to make sure all was OK with the car which I took as a good sign

It shouldn't have failed on a tyre pressure monitoring fault, it's too old for it to be a failure point. Iirc it's cars registered/made after around 2012.
